    Moving Towards Boiling Point?

    2007 - 03.31

    Good Passover and Holy Week.

Rumors flew on the internet this week about possible attacks on Iran or other conflicts in the Middle East. Tensions are definitely rising and all parties seem to be bracing or arming for a conflict they believe will arise in short order. John executes an extended boralogue connecting Middle East data points.

Then we bring on Alex Safia from CAMERA (www.camera.org) for a summary of the Arab Summit, which has been posited as a peace offer to Israel but in reality was much more of an violent ultimatum.

Former Vice President Al Gore is taking global heat about his large carbon footprint compared to the ideal he preaches for everyone else. We hear a lot about “Sustainable Development.” It’s a warm fuzzy environmental term but what does it mean? We’ll talk to Michael Shaw
(www.freedom21santacruz.net) , a property owner in Santa Cruz, California, who discovered it meant a lot of expense and relinquishing control of his property, while still being responsible for the property tax.

Finally, there’s a new law in New Zealand’s parliament to prohibit spanking. We’ll talk to home schooling representatives as to what this will mean for Christian home schoolers. Craig Smith joins us.

    American Self-Hate

    2007 - 03.24

Today’s show focuses on the 50-year progressive effort to get people in the West to hate their past and their religion in order to remold society into a secular socialist utopia.

First, Dave Noebel, author of "Understanding the Times,"
(www.summitministries.org) explains how progressives always compare western civilization to some non-existent ideal and then decry the shortfall, while never emphasizing how far western civilization came vs. other civilizations.

Then conversation shifts to an identical process in the church and the flying wedge being driven to debase the evangelical belief system and convert in to a social gospel, socialist-driven system.

In the second hour, Doug Phillips (www.visionforum.com) guests..

As the 400th anniversary of Jamestown approaches, its history is being re-written to politically correct standards.
Queen Elizabeth II is so upset she isn’t going to attend the ceremonies as she previously had intended to do.

Finally, a brief appearance by Michelle Bernard (www.iwf.org) from the Independent Women’s Forum.  Although alternative fuels are important to develop, ethanol cannot be a complete replacement for gasoline without wrecking agriculture.

John’s boralogue attempts a concise description of dialectical thought so you can recognize it when you see it in the market place.

    Slipping through the Cedars

    2007 - 03.17

    Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone.

The entire program focuses on developments in the Middle East.  We’re trying to sketch a picture that lets you understand the emerging issues and conflicts.

First, what is happening in Lebanon north of Israel? Hisbollah is rearming right under the nose of the United Nations as it anticipates the next conflict with Israel.  Also, Syria wants the Lebanese government to remain weak as it meddles in Lebanon’s affairs and supports Hisbollah.  Lebanese American John Hajj
    (www.cedarsrevolution.com) joins us.

Then the show jumps to Jerusalem for a conversation with South African journalist Stan Goodenough (www.jnewswire.com) about efforts to redefine Israel as the problem in the Middle East, notably calling it an apartheid state.  Goodenough was an anti- apartheid crusader in the South African press but says there is nothing similar about the Israeli/Palestinian situation.

Finally, John’s boralogue rebuts claims made by King Abdullah II in his address to Congress last week.

    Down Mexico Way

    2007 - 03.10

While border security is a hotly debated issue, the debate often ignores the effect illegals are having on those who live by the U.S.’s southern border. Sheriff Clarence Dupnik of Pima County, Arizona, (www.pimasheriff.org) provides “hands-on” insight to the border security chaos.

At the moment pro-global warming groups think they’ve taken the field, but we’ll look at the future of the issue, what it means to the coming energy shortages and its probable demise as a political focus. Dennis Avery, co-author of “Unstoppable” (www.hudson.org) joins us.

Finally, what would George Washington think of politicians’
treatment of the Constitution today? As big government expands, the understanding of what the founding fathers actually intended morphs as well. Retired Judge James Buckley authored “Gleanings from an Unplanned Life,” and is the only person to have served major positions in all three branches of government. The last segment of Steel surveys his opinions of what is needed to put the country back on track.

John’s boralogue highlights important news stories that have rolled down over the past few weeks.

    The Converging Chaos Window

    2007 - 03.03

Former Vice President Al Gore’s documentary "An Inconvenient Truth"
scored an oscar this week and global warming seems to be rising in an unstoppable crescendo of fervor. But given geo-economic events crossing the horizon, it may well turn be a swan song instead. The Fraser Institute (www.fraserinstitute.ca) in Canada executed an independent peer-review assessment of the IPCC climate change report, which is radically different than the doomsday crowing we hear in the mainline media. Nicholas Schneider joins us from Toronto.

February was Black History Month so we’ll look at the issue of racial reconciliation in the church: is it really an issue or just an extension of politically correct extending into churches? Ed Gilbreath from Christianity Today, author of "Reconciliation Blues"
    joins us.

John’s boralogue focuses on the seemingly unrelated geopolitical trends converging on as collision course towards a common crisis point between 2009-2012. He calls it the "converging chaos window."
