    Government Pirates and Dictionaries

    2008 - 08.30

Today we are absolutely, positively taking the weekend off. If the
world comes to an end, there’s no need to do a special show. If
something salvageable is left over, we’ll think about doing one.

A drug war rages in parts of Mexico between government agents and
drug lords spawning murders and assassinations every week. Yet
many Americans choose to live in Mexico. We’ll speak with Allan
Wall (www.allanwall.net) about his perspective on Mexican and
    American relations.

Don Corace is author of the book, “Government Pirates,” and he
joins as for the third and last installment of our mini-series on
silly prosecutions taking place in the country today.

Dictionaries and encyclopedias are the best thing for improving
one’s knowledge base. We’ll discuss why with the author of the
Baker “Pocket Guide to World Religions, What Every Christian Needs
to Know.” Professor Gerald McDermott provides spirited
    conversation.

Finally, as school begins shortly, John’s boralogue focuses on the
successes of people who take charge of their children’s education
instead of leaving it up to a failed government school system.

Realpolitik and the New Great Game

    2008 - 08.23

Last week we talked about the New Great Game in Central Asia.
Unfortunately there are lot of theories among people we meet about
Central Asia but few seem to have grappled with the pervasive
nature of the global paradigm shift. John begins with an extended
boralogue on the nature of this realpolitik, which will shove many
    current ideologies off the table.

Part of the new paradigm involves warfare, unfortunately, and a
growing number of mercenaries are at work around the world.
We’ll talk to one of them to see what makes this industry tick.
John Geddes is a career soldier and author of “The Road to Hell.”

Then we’ll continue our mini-series expounding the viewpoints of
people who grew up in totalitarian societies and what their
insights can teach Americans today. Hilmar von Camnpe
(www.voncampe.com) was a member of the Hitler Jugend (Hitler Youth)
and is author of “Defeating the Totalitarian Lie.”

    The New Great Game

    2008 - 08.16

OK, I know we said we were taking time off but you’ve emailed us
for commentary about the latest global conflict. So, here it is.

What’s all the fuss about Russia and Georgia? It’s oil! Georgia
is a strategic fulcrum for oil flow to the west and the latest war
has Vladimir Putin’s fingerprints all over it.

First we reach into the SOS program archive grab bag for an
interview with Lutz Klevemann in 2004 about his book, “The New
Great Game, Blood and Oil in Central Asia.” (www.newgreatgame.com)
    Lutz’s predictions are haunting now.

Then we follow with an interview featuring Richard Maybury,
(www.richardmaybury.com) publisher of the “Early Warning Report,”
which accurately predicted in the early 1990s that Central Asia was
the world’s upcoming hot spot, aptly naming the region “Chaostan.”

Last week an Idaho man reported to prison for managing a wetland
which is almost never wet. This latest in a series of stupid
prosecutions taking place around the country will sizzle your
cookies when you hear what happened. Bryan Seltzer of the Idaho
    Values Alliance guests. (www.idahovaluesalliance.com)

We skip the boralogue. Aw, come on! You can’t have everything
when I’m supposed to be on vacation!

Rich Man Poor Man: Socialism in Action

    2008 - 08.09

Wow! It’s quiet. Congress isn’t in session, so we’re safe for a
    while.

We’re doing summertime perspective pieces. Two mini-series kick off
today. The first is the view of where America is headed seen
through the eyes of people who grew up in Nazi Germany or behind
the Iron Curtain; lessons from the past applied today.

The first guest in the series is Paul Mladjenovic, author of
“Precious Metals Investing for Dummies.” (www.supermoneylinks.com)
Paul grew up in communist Croatia. He is a passionate advocate for
free markets because his family has seen the toll socialism takes
    on a society.

Then the second mini-series examines the bewildering number of
stupid prosecutions occurring at the federal level. This is
something you need to be aware of in case you’re on a jury. Career
law enforcement professional Steve Doran returns detailing an absurd
prosecution which was resolved in favor of the defendant by a smart
jury just a couple of weeks ago.

Socialism always promises great things and seems to work as long as
no one has to pay the bill. Once the bill comes due, society
groans under the load of accumulated debt. The end game of
socialism results in a small group of fabulously wealthy people at
the top and everyone else impoverished at the bottom. John’s
    boralogue rotates around this theme.

    The Legacy of KAL007

    2008 - 08.02

It’s been 25 years since the Soviets shot down Korean Airlines
Flight 007, whose most famous passenger was Congressman Larry
McDonald of Georgia. Most notable among unanswered
questions remains: Where did all the people go? Bodies were never
found and divers found the plane empty. Bert Schlossberg from the
International Committee for the Rescue of KAL007 Survivors joins us
    (www.rescue007.org).

So you’ve heard the common lore that there’s a consensus among
scientists about man-made global warming. But what do the
statistics show? Hard to find out because the last survey was done
in 2003 and there was no consensus then. Dr. Michael Coffman, PhD,
(www.warmingdvd.com) joins us to examine the latest studies.

John’s boralogue waves a thread that runs from Senator Obama’s
speech in Berlin through the move towards global citizenship to
    Congressman Larry McDonald.
