U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child Returns

    2009 - 05.30

It seems to be “attorney” day for Steel on Steel.

First, a lawsuit is underway against the Department of Homeland
Security for designating conservative Americans, including veterans
returning from Iraq, as potential terrorists to be monitored by law
enforcement. Richard Thompson is President and Chief Counsel of the
    Thomas More Law Center (www.thomasmore.org).

It’s back! For all the years we’ve warned listeners about
the dangers of U.N. meddling in families, there is a movement in
Congress to ratify the U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child.
This treaty would be binding on all states and would insert U.N.
policy between parents and their children as to what they’ll be
allowed to read, do, with whom they associate and what they
believe. Michael Farris from Home School Legal Defense
    (www.hslda.org and www.parentalrights.org) joins us.

Finally, the fight between free markets and top-down management of
economies reaches all the way back to the Enlightenment. Paul Rahe
(www.paularahe.com) is a professor at Hillsdale College and author
    of “Soft Despotism: Democracy’s Drift.”

John’s boralogue revises the schedule for the U.S. emergence from
its 2009-2012 crisis window and plowing in an economic train wreck,
making the current crisis look pale by comparison.

International Lawfare vs. Freedom of Speech

    2009 - 05.23

    Focused program today.

The Middle East’s Christian population is collapsing as
Christians flee the region. The progressive press likes to blame
Israel for the decline, but Israel’s Christian population has
been steadily growing. A close examination shows the real culprit
to be the treatment of Christians in Muslim-dominated countries.
Dexter van Zile from CAMERA (www.camera.org) joins us.

This segues to another important issue, where Islamic organizations
in the West use “lawfare” to squelch freedom of speech. We’ll take
in an-depth look at this threat to truth with Brooke Goldstein from
the Middle East Forum Legal Project (www.legal-project.org).

John’s boralogue details how politicians have been mishandling
crises the same way for over three thousand years.

    The War in Pipelineistan

    2009 - 05.16

For some reason the American press ignores the growing war over oil
in the “-stans,” countries in Eurasia, the paths along which
pipelines are laid or will be laid. This growing war is fierce
under the surface, and will determine the direction of geopolitics
and an energy crisis for the next decade. Pepe Escobar writes for
the Asian Times (www.atimes.com) and is author of the book, “Obama
Does Globalistan.” He is the principle guest for today’s show from
his home in São Paulo, Brazil.

Before that, Chris Farrell from Judicial Watch (www.judicialwatch.org)
is on line about the banking meeting of October 13, 2008, where the
country’s major banks were made an offer by Hank Paulsen and
Tim Geithner they couldn’t refuse: give a majority interest in the
bank to the government or else. Al Capone would have been proud.

John’s extended boralogue connects the controversy over President
Obama’s commencement address at Notre Dame University to an
unsustainable healthcare system with the inevitability of
euthanasia if we stay on the trail we’re following right now.

The First 100 Days and Israel’s Last Days

    2009 - 05.09

The Middle East continues its move towards a cold war paradigm, the
Obama administration launches another peace attempt, and countries
along eastern “Pipelineistan” become a more intense locus of
    conflict for the world.

We hear first from Aaron Klein, Israel bureau chief for
Worldnetdaily (www.wnd.com) and author of “The Late Great State of
    Israel.”

Over 100 days have passed since President Obama took office and he
maintains high approval ratings. However, most Americans are
oblivious to the consequences, which policies being enacted now
will have in 36-48 months. White House correspondent Bill Koenig
(www.watch.org) provides a snapshot of our current political course
    and speed.

The House of Representatives passed a hate crimes bill this week
which is now headed to the Senate. John’s extended boralogue
explains why hate crimes laws are an extremely bad idea, distorting
equal justice under law to a point where freedom of speech is
suppressed. He uses examples from other countries where hate
crimes have progressed much further than here. Hate crimes
ultimately increase hate rather than reducing it.

Crisis as a Pretext for Change

    2009 - 05.02

The Global Nervousness Index seems to be soaring lately with people
panicked about everything from economics to swine flu to airplanes
over Manhattan. The current global nervousness serves as a cover
for structuring new forms of government, supra-national agencies,
and banking systems because there aren’t many people watching. So
what might a new monetary system look like? Attorney Ellen Brown
is author of the book “Web of Debt,” and she joins us for the first
    part of the program.

Then John links together the push for a fairness doctrine to
control speech on the airwaves or internet to other issues where a
slippery slope has prevailed. We follow the thought flow right
into an interview with attorney James Kalb, author of “The Tyranny
of Liberalism: Understanding and Overcoming Administered Freedom,
Inquisitorial Tolerance and Quality by Command.”

John’s boralogue projects the perfect financial storm beyond the
crisis window of 2009-2012 into the next decade, calling it the
Great American Train Wreck followed by a global war cycle of 2018.
Sorry. We do say it’s the best bad news in town.

P.S.: Don’t forget to live your life and serve God.
