    Earth Day Hype

    2010 - 04.24

This week marked the 15th anniversary of the tragic bombing of the
Murrah Office building in Oklahoma City. President Clinton said
the atmosphere of hate in the country is identical now to what it was
just prior to that terrorist event. So John’s extended boralogue
examines the parallels between then and now, as well as those
things that are different, especially by noting what President
    Clinton said back then.

This week also marked the annual observance of Earth Day.
Unfortunately much of the environmental information peddled in
schools during Earth Day is more political hype than scientific
fact. But what happens when informed parents object? Carrie
Lukas joins us from the Independent Women’s Forum (www.iwf.org).

We’ve had a listener request to cover the progress of the
Mediterranean Union and how this relates to both the European Union
and the nation of Israel. Harold Hoffman (http://britanniaradio.blogspot.com/)
in the UK has been monitoring this situation and fills us in.

    The Roots of Progressive Thought

    2010 - 04.17

Today progressive philosophy and liberalism seem inseparably
joined, but it was not always so. Progressive thought and Marxism
are kissing cousins, tracing their roots back to philosopher Georg
Friedrich Hegel. It wasn’t until after World War I and especially
World War II that progressive thought pushed through its gradual
process of co-opting classic liberalism. Professor Ronald
Pestritto from Hillsdale college (www.hillsdale.edu) is author of
the book, “Woodrow Wilson and the Roots of Modern Liberalism.”

In the latter part of today’s program, John reads emails from
listeners covering preparation for the next five (rough) economic
years, as well as an explanation of what happens when currencies
begin to die. Several actuality clips are featured.

John’s boralogue delves into the tense status in the Middle East
with an eye toward subtle changes in U.S. policy that are reshaping
the play book with possibly disastrous results.

    Whither Tolerance?

    2010 - 04.10

Where is tolerance for Christians headed in the U.S.? You have
only to look at where it is in Great Britain to answer.
Paul Coleman from the Christian Legal Centre
(www.christianlegalcentre.co.uk) returns with news of the case
against a Christian nurse, who has been refused the right to wear a
cross when at the same time Muslim women are allowed to wear head
    covering.

As the energy storm approaches, are we really opening more oil
    fields to exploration? Patrick Creighton
(www.instituteforenergyresearch.org) climbs on board from the
Institute for Energy Research to frame exactly where we stand.

More sneaky-snucky items emerged this last week: taxes taxes
everywhere. Oh my. Former Federal Reserve chairman Paul Volker
mentioned a VAT (tax) this week and says America needs it. Now
where have we heard that before? Plus, under the table, the global
crowd is grumbling for a global tax on financial transactions.
Cliff Kincaid from Accuracy in Media (www.aim.org) slides into the
    hot seat with a report.

The World Bank is one of five institutions created at the Bretton
Woods Conference in 1944 and many doubt its worth as a clandestine
    global institution. David Shaman is
author of the book, “The World Bank Unveiled,” and he makes a case
    for retaining the institution.

John devotes his boralogue to explaining what we mean by “doing the
(dialectical) process”. How do you recognize it when you see it?
The key is to spot compromise, dialogue and double definitions.

Where oh Where Did the Piggy Flu Go?

    2010 - 04.03

    Christ is Risen!

Does anyone remember the end-of-the-world pandemic that H1N1
was supposed to cause? Where did it go? Dr. Stan Monteith
(www.radioliberty.com) returns to the program for an examination of
the swine flu time line with its sky-is-falling rhetoric by health officials.

Then John does a commentary on the Westboro Baptist Church’s anti-
gay rhetoric and the Michigan militia arrests — how this does or
doesn’t relate to the tea party movement and hate speech.

Have trouble debating theological issues with your atheist friends?
Dr. William Lane Craig (www.reasonablefaith.org) has a solution:
His book /On Guard/ is a manual for effectively engaging in such
    discussions.

John’s extended boralogue divulges three “sneaky-snucky” things
that went down over the last week or so with a commentary as to why
these are real indicators of where the country is headed.
