I’ve downloaded the .mp3 file but I can’t play it.

By default, Windows Media Player plays .mp3 files. If you don’t have it you can download it from Microsoft. You will need RealPlayer for the Real Audio files and an MP3 program such as WinAmp or iTunes to listen to the MP3 files.

I missed a broadcast and want to listen to past shows, how can I access the archives?

Steel on Steel archives past broadcasts up to six months past. If you are a member you can access them on the Archived Broadcasts.
If you would like older archives, you now have the option to purchase an entire year (all 52 shows) in .mp3 Format on a single DVD disc for only $50.00. Please specify which year(s) you want when ordering.

I want to download a program and burn a CD to share.

Our materials are copyright free so you can share this information with anyone.

How to burn a CD of the show.

    1. Login to your Steel on Steel account and choose a show to download in .mp3
    2. Just click the link to download then choose a location on your computer.
    3. Place a blank CD-R into your disc drive and open your burning software and choose “Create audio CD”. Drag the .Mp3 file into the “media files to add to disc window”, click “burn” or “write CD”.
The methods and steps will vary depending on the software used.

For those using Windows Media Player to burn a CD: (May vary on the version used)
    • First you should enter a blank CD in your CD/DVD-RW drive. After a short while, Windows will launch the “AutoPlay” window. Select “Burn an audio CD using Windows Media Player” and wait for Windows Media Player to launch.
    • Now, you have to select the music you want to burn on the CD. On the left side of the Windows Media Player window, click on “Library”. You will see a list of “Primary Views”. Now you can click on the “Artist” button and select songs played by a specific artist or you can click on the “Album” button to burn songs from a specific album and so on.

    • If you want to add all songs of a certain artist then select the artist, right click on him and then select “Add to Burn List”. Also, you can drag and drop any song, album, etc to the burn list from the right side of the Windows Media Player window.

    • The size of audio CD’s is not measured in megabytes. It is measured in minutes of played music. Every time you add a track to your audio CD, Windows Media Player will calculate the remaining time. Under the disc on the right side of the screen you will notice a small blue bar that is filling up with each new song you add to the disc. You can add tracks until that bar gets filled.
    • When you have finished adding songs to your disc, click on the “Start Burn” button from the lower right corner of Media Player. The burning process will start and when it is finished the CD will automatically be ejected from the CD/DVD-RW drive.
