EMP Warning

The issue is never the issue especially when it comes to Israel, Palestine, and the “occupation.” In this week’s boralogue, John shows that Canada’s recent admonishment of the Israeli occupation of supposed Palestinian territory was more about demonizing Israel. A clip from journalist Caroline Glick exposes the actual motivation behind Palestinian actions. The issue is never about the issue – it’s always about the outcome.

North Korea tested what they claimed to be a hydrogen bomb earlier this month, but could it have been something else? Furthermore, could it have been for someone else? Joining us for a roundtable discussion this week are James Hyde (www.amilimani.com), Director of Operations for the Amil Imani National Security Initiative and Peter Huessy (www.afa.org), President of GeoStrategic Analysis.

They reveal that North Korea, most likely on behalf of Iran, tested instead an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) device, and go on to discuss the Middle East oil picture, the history of EMP, and our government’s response (or lack thereof) to the danger. What will life be like with no power for months or even years following an EMP attack?

Last year was the hottest on record, according to leading climate scientists. But have temperatures really risen or has the data been manipulated? Former Meteorology Professor at MIT Dr. Richard Lindzen (www.mit.edu), examines how data points can say whatever scientists want and shows how the prevailing thought on global warming seems to be waning. When the truth begins chipping away at the narrative, though, progressives heat up the propaganda.

Finally, John looks at Bernie Sanders and his answer to how he plans to pay for the myriad of free things he is promising to his constituents. The Sandman is correct in identifying problems. But he’s wrong in identifying both the causes and the solutions.

John’s quote of the week:
“The issue is never the issue, the outcome is always the issue. You will see in many areas of political agendas that issues are so hot one moment. For example, the ozone hole – remember we went through that? All of a sudden, that was dropped in favor of global warming because they got more mileage out of that one.”

Pitching Deck

In the land of political correctness, up is down, down is up, and we’re all stumbling around on a pitching deck of moral non-absolutes, unsure of what to say or do. In this week’s boralogue, John explores this constantly shifting land where multiculturalism is king, collective rights trump those of the individual, and the one unpardonable sin is to reject the failed scheme of the progressive clergy. In order to get our footing, we need to ridicule this self-contradictory and bankrupt system.

With Europe hovering at the edge of this pitching deck, will the United States have the courage to honestly debate issues that are threatening us? Pete Hoekstra (www.investigativeproject.org), former Republican U.S. Congressman from Michigan, examines the need for honest discussion regardless of cries from the politically correct, and gives an overview of the nuclear relationships between North Korea, Iran, and Syria.

Throughout the Muslim world, the idea that Israel shouldn’t have the right to exist is common. But are evangelical Christians beginning to feel the same way? Tricia Miller (www.camera.org), Senior Research Analyst with CAMERA, explains that theological views and political narratives can mix, leaving evangelicals with a pro-Palestinian mindset when it comes to the state of Israel.

Plummeting oil prices dominated headlines this week. John takes a moment to examine the onset of fracking as an economic phenomenon, and how Saudi Arabia is purposefully bucking market trends. Energy, ideology, and currency all converge geopolitically to explain what’s going on.

Finally, we welcome Sue Ellen Browder, a freelance writer and author of the new book “Subverted,” who recounts her time with Cosmopolitan Magazine in the 1970s and how the sexual revolution, through abortion and the question of choice, hijacked the women’s movement.

John’s quote of the week:

“Multiculturalism must triumph and the constantly changing list of dos and don’ts must trump everything else. Indeed, key civil rights are being slaughtered in this onslaught of death by a thousand qualifications, which always require some elitist hierarchy to tell us what applies at any given moment.”

Point of No Return

New Year’s Eve mob attacks rocked the city of Cologne, Germany, as well as many other towns in Europe. Outrage from politicos and the media were directed not at the attackers, but in many cases at the victims! In this week’s boralogue, John takes a look at collapsing narratives of the Left and lists several lessons we should learn from the fallout. It begins with rejecting politically correct nonsense.

In light of these attacks and the inappropriate response, has Europe crossed a point of no return and lost what it means to be European? Judith Bergman (www.gatestoneinstitute.org), a writer and political activist, discusses the police and media cover-up in Germany following the attacks and concludes that European leaders’ refusal to acknowledge the problem in favor of a politically correct narrative has brought about the dissolution of Europe’s identity.

In the United States, President Obama began the year by ignoring the second amendment. Larry Pratt (www.gunowners.org), Executive Director of Gun Owners of America, examines the mental health aspect of Obama’s gun control executive action and states that in order to turn government around, we need to elect candidates who will obey and defend the Constitution.

We finish this week with two court cases, the first from Canada. Andre Schutten (www.ARPACanada.ca), Ontario Director of ARPA Canada, updates us on the status of the country’s euthanasia laws, showing that when politics is driving medicine, morals and ethics are swept away.

The second case, involving government interference, originates from Montana. Wen Fa (www.pacificlegal.org), Public Interest Attorney at the Pacific Legal Foundation, reveals that Montana’s revenue office has denied tax credit scholarships to students who wish to go to private religious schools, in complete defiance of their own state legislature.

John’s quote of the week:
“We cannot allow to happen here what is happening in Europe. And it begins with rejecting manipulative concepts such as efforts to force us to censor or self-censor speech under the guise of hate speech, micro-aggressions, or all the latest nonsense this crowd keeps cooking up and has cooked up for over half a century. The freedom of many countries in the English-speaking world actually depends upon it.”
