Have we learned anything from watching the news in the past 15 years? In this week’s boralogue, John looks at the duplicitous nature of politicians and the media, showing, for example, how the health of our two presidential candidates is being covered so differently depending on which network you watch. Media bias has been exposed and politically correct narratives are sidelining meaningful debate and the truth – often with disastrous results.

What would be the best way for politicos to shut down opposing opinions? Kevin Freeman (www.globaleconomicwarfare.com), Founder and CEO of Freeman Global Holdings, joins us to review what ICANN is, when it will take control of the internet, and the dangers of no oversight. The war on free speech is heating up and anyone who doesn’t agree with the PC narrative could be shut down.

One narrative that refuses to listen to dissenters is that of anthropogenic global warming. Matt Briggs (www.wmbriggs.com), Adjunct Professor of Statistics at Cornell University, examines the flawed research and science behind the climate change agenda and where the ultimate result is heading: more government control.

John’s quote of the week:
“The politically correct consensus is almost always wrong because politicians frequently lie to us. What authorities tell us is often wrong and driven by internal politics or political correctness. In those cases, they cannot be relied upon as a reliable source of news or information.”

Media Bias

Have you noticed how nutty it’s gotten out there? In this week’s boralogue, John looks at the idiocy cranked out by the media and by others who are trying so hard to adhere to politically correct mantras that they completely ignore logic. From campuses offering segregated housing to a backup quarterback speaking out against oppression while wearing a Castro t-shirt, things are definitely tilting at the absurd. It’s up to us to point out when they are being self-contradictory and hypocritical.

Nationalization of local police forces has been a hot button issues for years, but the federal government has now found a path to making it a reality. Richard Manning (www.getliberty.org), President of Americans for Limited Government, joins us to discuss a sue-and-settle scheme from the Justice Department that will lock in a city’s law enforcement to federal review.

Steel on Steel has always been an alternative to journalist activists in the mainstream media, who try to shape your opinion rather than give you the news. Steve Turley (www.turleytalks.com), Teacher at Tall Oaks Classical School in Delaware, joins John this week to examine media bias and the assault on free speech. The solid foundation of facts will always be at odds with the shifting sand of relativistic values.

The very same biased media have ignored a crucial fact in the EpiPen pricing controversy: why it’s happening. Dan Gainor (www.mrc.org), Vice President at the Media Research Center, shows that the government engineered a monopoly on EpiPens, which led to the price increase. He also looks at the attack on free speech from a biased media and politically correct liberals.

John’s quote of the week:
“Am I missing something here? Or is stupidity masquerading as a virtue? Has the whole equality goal of Martin Luther King where no one is judged by their skin but rather by their character and accomplishment been totally trashed? It’s an ocean of growing lunacy.”

Broken Process

Why are many Americans in a rush to pull down the freedoms our forefathers fought so hard to gain? In this week’s boralogue, John looks at the decline in freedoms in the United States, pointing out the hypocrisy from politically correct elites who preach against intolerance and microagressions – all in an intolerant and aggressive manner. It’s time to stand up against the nonsense and exercise our freedoms; or we may just lose them.

Can peace exist between Israel and Palestine when one side doesn’t want peace? Author and historian Dr. Robert Wolfe (www.robert-wolfe.com) joins us to discuss the prospects of both one- and two-state solutions and how donated money does not find its way to Palestinians that need it.

Bitcoin has emerged on the world scene as an oft-used electronic currency. David Ackerman (www.soundincomestrategies.com), Attorney and CCO at Sound Investment Strategies, reviews Bitcoin’s background and analyzes its value and whether it should be regulated.

The Constitution of the United States of America – is it really a living and breathing document? Michael Lee (www.unbiasedamerica.com), Columnist for Unbiased America, looks at how the document’s text has been tortured by activist judges to say things the founders never intended it to say. If you want to change the Constitution, there is an amendment process.

Finally, we circle back to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict with Denis MacEoin (www.gatestoneinstitute.org), Senior Fellow at the Gatestone Institute, who examines the history of Islam in Jerusalem and the negative influence on the United Nations from Muslim countries and groups.

John’s quote of the week:
“The ideas of freedom and freedom of speech and freedom of conscience and freedom of religion are late arrivals in the history of the world. They are always under pressure and they haven’t even been expanded to the entire world yet. And they are under duress now in the one area where it came to birth.”

Social Justice

Have we learned anything by watching the news this summer? In this week’s boralogue, John looks at subjects the media and political candidates refuse to talk about, like the future of our economy, the tendency for politicians to raise taxes and regulate business, and the unpleasant choices we’re left with regarding fiscal policy. When those in power choose instead to focus on toxic narratives, we’re left with deadly consequences.

What is social justice and why is it important? We welcome back economist and author Pat Wood (www.technocracy.news) who discusses the history of social justice, redistribution of wealth, and technocracy as the science behind social engineering. When one group wants what another has, social justice becomes nothing more than legalized covetousness.

Social justice, if left unfettered, will likely result in socialism. Luis Fleischman (www.centerforsecuritypolicy.org), Senior Advisor at the Center for Security Policy, analyzes how socialism has affected Venezuela, where power for the elites has become an end unto itself and the people are the ones who suffer.

John’s quote of the week:
“Politicians will not get out of the way and lower the taxes and lower the regulations to get the small businesses going, to get the jobs going, to get to where we need to get going, going.”

We are taking a vacation this week for our intelligence briefing, Section 6, but John will return next week with analysis on important stories highlighting emerging geopolitical trends around the world.
