It’s important in the fight for our freedoms to understand how we arrived at where we are. In this week’s boralogue, John looks at the progression from scholasticism to the Reformation to the freedoms we have today. Freedom, responsibility, and devotion to God enabled us to gain the prosperity we have. Academia and the media are trying hard to eradicate these things and it’s up to us to understand the battle and fight for what we have.

After further dissecting how we got to this moment of postmodernism, John welcomes Ed Hindson (www.thekingiscoming.com), Dean of the Institute of Biblical Studies at Liberty University, who examines the problems with postmodern thought and the ways in which we can reach out to those who are struggling under this worldview.

John plays a Steel on Steel interview from March 2009 where he spoke with former ambassador to the UN – and our current National Security Advisor – John Bolton about American sovereignty and how the global governance crowd would like to see it vanish. This interview is just as relevant today as it was ten years ago.

Worldviews guide us in life but those rooted in the truth guide us to the right path. Writer and Pastor Wallace Henley (www.wallacehenley.net) joins us to discuss how Winston Churchill, with all of his faults and failures, was the right man at the right time in history. He also emphasizes the importance of worldviews to graduates as they transition from academia to the real world.

John’s quote of the week:
Tremendous freedom coupled with tremendous responsibility coupled with an intense devotion to God and to His Word – those three things enabled freedom in the West. If you take away any one of those three, you don’t have the prosperity that the West was able to achieve.

In this week’s Extras segment, we fire up the way back machine to December 2008, a month after Barack Obama won the presidency. John dissects postmodernism and multiculturalism, and then brings on author James Kalb to discuss how these ideals are different from traditional liberalism and how they are destroying freedom and Western culture.

It seems human rights are back in the news after Alabama passed an abortion restriction law. In this week’s boralogue, John reminds us of past cases where new rights were established to suit an ideology. After Alabama passed their law, we are seeing the concept of what goes around comes around. Creating a right that ultimately forces someone else to violate their beliefs is totalitarian and an indicator of the new postmodern world we live in.

Potpourri week on Steel. First up, we speak with Shahram Hadian (www.tilproject.com), Founder of the Truth in Love Project, about the basics of Ramadan and why, during those 30 days, there is an uptick in violence and jihad.

Next up, we explore the Law of the Sea Treaty with Alex Newman (www.thenewamerican.com), Foreign Correspondent with The New American. If it is ratified, the UN would have independent taxing power under this law which is a frightening thought.

What is happening in the Middle East? We welcome David Rubin (www.shilohisraelchildren.org), Founder and President of the Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund, who discusses geopolitics in the Middle East including Iran’s nuclear program.

Finishing out the program this week, John takes a look at Brexit and the battle of worldviews in Europe and America. Producer Steve joins in later to discuss various political issues like President Trump’s tax returns, controversial comments by a member of the House, and potentially un-Constitutional legislation in California.

John’s quote of the week:
In Europe, they’re shutting people down by making it a crime to say certain things. Here in America, we name it and shame it, and it’s having an effect; it’s costing people. But here they can’t quite prohibit it, though social media is contributing to it.

In this week’s Extras segment, we play a Steel on Steel interview from July 2017 with Bill Warner. Since the month of Ramadan has begun in the Islamic faith, it is important we better understand aspects of Islam. Topics covered include the basics of Islam, how political correctness is willfully blinding us to certain realities, and how our freedoms in this country would disappear under sharia law.

Fresh from his speaking engagement at the Worldview Weekend Conference in Missouri last week, John recounts in his boralogue some of the conversations he had with people he encountered on the trip. In large measure, people are nice, inquisitive and just want to live happy lives. But life must have purpose and that purpose can be found in God. So let’s help each other get to the finish line, enjoying life along the way.

Israel has weathered a barrage of rocket attacks from Gaza in the past week. Are we getting accurate information about the skirmish? Author and Captain in the Israeli Defense Forces, Dan Gordon, joins us to examine the differences in narratives from both sides and the media’s manipulation of the news. He also looks at the real reason behind the attacks.

John and Steve take a brief look at the media and discuss whether they are finally starting to be fair to the Trump administration or if they are playing defense for the Democrat Party in advance of what could be a serious FISA abuse scandal in coming weeks.

When we have a battle of worldviews, what are the nuances and tactics from both sides? Kameel Majdali (www.tan.org.au), Director of Teach All Nations, discusses the stark differences between traditional Western values and the far left progressive worldview and how Christians should engage those with whom they disagree.

Finally we welcome Michael Peroutka (www.theamericanview.com), Co-Founder of the Institute on the Constitution, who shows how there is a battle between those who honor the Biblically-based founding documents of America and those who try to tear them down and promote a socialist Utopian society.

John’s quote of the week:
In order to achieve the utopian vision, the utopiocracy shall we say, has to know everything you’re thinking, doing, and saying because everyone has to march in lock step with its dictates. But of course for this to happen you only have to give up your freedom.

In this week’s Extras segment, we play first an interview John gave recently on KYMS, a local radio station in north Idaho, where he discusses media narratives, government influencing churches, and the martyred church. Plus, he gives a weather forecast for the greater Laodicea area! Then we play a brief appearance John made on Brannon Howse’s program from the Worldview Weekend conference in Missouri last weekend.

John is speaking this weekend in Missouri so we will forego the boralogue and jump right into the show with Dr. Allen Guelzo (www.gettysburg.edu), Professor of Civil War Studies at Gettysburg College. He details the slavery debate during the Constitutional Convention, refutes the common three-fifths of a person myth, and asserts that upholding the First Amendment is more than just preserving a document; it’s about preserving humanity.

The woke movement is in full swing among far left progressives, but what is this movement? Author and speaker Dr. Michael Rectenwald (www.michaelrectenwald.com) is back with us to describe the origins of the woke movement and its eerie similarities to the Chinese Cultural Revolution under Mao and shows how socialism is infiltrating our society through social media.

John’s quote of the week:
These issues, whether it’s Alinsky or the Frankfurt School or the Woke Movement, the whole purpose is designed to destroy the existing structure. President Obama said ‘radical transformation,’ so then you have to ask ‘what are we transforming to?‘”

In this week’s Extras segment, we play an interview John gave on Q90FM in Wisconsin with Mike LeMay on the program Stand Up For The Truth. They discuss liberal institutions, inconsistencies with far left progressive thinking, and how the definitions of words and phrases have been changed to fit specific narratives.

Listen to the Stand Up For The Truth one-hour, live daily podcast hereGoogle Play, or in iTunes.
