We seem to be jumping from one controversy to another in this country and its being led by far leftist activists. In this week’s boralogue, John looks at Alinsky tactics and how protesting now is the same as during the Vietnam War, when activists tried to convince us that the U.S. was a no-good, imperialist, colonialist, racist nation. The current NFL controversy encapsulates this.

Plus the clip of the week features former Secretary of Education William Bennett explaining how the deterioration of education has led to the mindset of protesters today.

With heated rhetoric on the rise and advancing terror tactics, safeguarding the President is more important than ever. Former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino (www.conservativereview.com) joins us to talk about his new book, “Protecting the President,” sharing with us how Secret Service management is slow to adapt to emerging threats.

Financial Analyst and AI blogger Cris Sheridan (aiantichrist.blogspot.com) returns this week to discuss evidence from Scripture that the perfect candidate for the Antichrist may be artificial intelligence.

The outrage of the week stems from an op-ed where two authors advocated for traditional values. Heather MacDonald (www.manhattan-institute.org), Fellow at the Manhattan Institute, describes the progressive hot water two law professors find themselves in after advocating for hard work, faithful marriage, and respect for authority.

To round out the show this week, John and Steel Producer Steve Schiller talk about assumptions made by the media and the Left that lead to anti-Trump narratives, the NFL controversy, and the strategy President Trump uses in exposing the Left.

John’s quote of the week:
In this time, it is very important to keep talking about the truth, to teach people how to think about the issues logically and rationally, and then to know how to handle people who fly off the handle because they simply have no way of logically, in a mature method, dealing with these issues. We have so many people running around today who are children in adult bodies.

Coming up in our Section 6 Intelligence Brief: A look at president Trump’s North Korea policy, Betsy Devos brings back due process, a lesson on keeping free speech from being destroyed, what happens when the Catholic church goes off the rails, and audio from a 1989 speech by Dr. Shirley McCune on new age education.

When signs converge ahead of a looming storm, what do we need most to get us through? In this week’s boralogue, John compares today’s portents with those facing our nation in the early 1930s. Sprawling bureaucracy, executive orders, and taking from one group to give to another are not new concepts. People can easily become depressed when faced with such as these. What they need is hope. Not hopey changey slogans, but real hope that comes from the Lord Himself.

Slow economic growth and questionable central bank policies have driven global stock markets down this week. We welcome to the show Jim Puplava (www.financialsense.com), President of Puplava Financial Services, who discusses how the U.S. market is behaving versus Europe, Japan, and China; the dangers of negative interest rates; and what we actually need to improve our economy.

Russia, with its tentacles spread across the global chessboard, is raising eyebrows in Europe and the Middle East. Andrew Kuchins (www.ceres.georgetown.edu), East European expert at Georgetown University, examines Russia’s economy in light of low oil prices, and the resultant increase in military strategy in Syria and Ukraine.

It’s been 50 years since the papal encyclical Nostra Aetate exhibited the Catholic Church’s view on Jews and the State of Israel. Was its implementation successful or did it fail? Susan Warner (www.israelolivetree.org), Founder of Olive Tree Ministries, rejoins us to analyze the effects of the document and asks whether current actions by the Church promote or discourage anti-Semitism.

John’s quote of the week:
“People need hope. Hope is the expectation of a purpose and good things in the future even when things look bleak…. Christians have hope and we need to give that hope to other people…. We need to shine in the midst of this.”

What is truth? In this week’s boralogue, Johns examines church members who are claiming to be Christians but don’t believe in Christ and atheist ministers who still want to lead their church congregations. Why be part of a belief system you don’t believe in? There is such a thing as absolute truth, even for those who claim there isn’t. If you believe in truth, it makes a demand upon you that you live according to that truth. But politicians and many in the church today adhere to a politically correct version of reality that stands in opposition to actual truth. One day they will come to realize — as all of us will — that truth is reality and it always wins out.

We continue our thread this week highlighting Christian persecution and welcome to the program Nasir Bhatti (www.pakistanchristiancongress.org), President of the Pakistan Christian Congress. He examines the delays that Christians encounter in receiving refugee status from the United Nations and touches on the immigration problems facing Europe.

“The nine most terrifying words in the English language,” former President Ronald Reagan once said, “are, ‘I’m from the government and I’m here to help.’ “One might urge the government to look up the word ‘help’ in the dictionary. The EPA, an element of said government, has launched a campaign to control every drop of water in the United States, even at the expense of property rights and it’s causing a retain in many states.

Seton Motley (www.lessgovernment.org), President of Less Government and hydrologist Dr. Jay Lehr (www.heartland.org), Science Director at the Heartland Institute, discuss the agency’s overreach and regulations and propose a plan to phase out federal control in favor of state responsibility. Can it be implemented or will it slowly drown in a sea of bureaucracy?

John finishes up with a behind the scenes look at Roman Catholicism, papal infallibility, and the weight of authority behind papal teaching and how that is affecting geopolitics.

As always, join us online for our Section 6 intelligence briefing featuring analysis by John on important stories highlighting emerging geopolitical trends around the world. This week, John takes a look at capitalism and the refugee crisis in Europe.
