Are we seeing a double standard regarding refugee policies in Europe? In this week’s boralogue, John looks at the case of Asia Bibi, who has been denied asylum in the UK due to fears of violent protests. Those who would protest, however, are the very same ones who are protected and against whom no one is allowed to speak. We can learn from Europe’s dysfunction, but only if we are willing.

There is quite a difference in the perception of law enforcement between 2008 and today. Eric Reade (www.ccs.spokane.edu), former Officer in Charge of the Threat Assessment Unit for the Los Angeles Police Department, discusses the rise in violence against police officers in the last 10 years and stresses the importance of looking at facts, not rhetoric, when it comes to Black Lives Matter and the previous administration.

Now that the dust has settled – somewhat – from the midterms, we welcome back author and political forecaster Gerard Lameiro (www.greatnewsforamerica.com) who reviews his midterm predictions and examines the irregularities in Florida’s recount ballot counting.

John and Producer Steve follow up on Mr. Lameiro’s interview looking at the possible strategies behind the Democrat recounts in Florida, which could be related to the Senate’s upcoming slew of conservative judicial appointments.

John’s quote of the week:
“In any situation you have to ask, ‘did this happen,’ ‘were rights violated,’ and ‘how do we deal with that?’ It has to be on a level playing field. Once you distort that going one way or the other, we don’t really have equal rights and we’ll never get there. It isn’t a matter of race; it’s a matter of humanity.”

In this week’s Section 6, John looks at the California wildfires, Brexit mania in Europe, globalism vs sovereignty, and the reason for the visceral reactions to Brexit and President Trump. And it wouldn’t be the episode before Thanksgiving without John giving you his famous cranberry sauce recipe.

Loeffler’s Famous Cranberry Sauce Recipe
Ingredients:
  • 1 lb. fresh cranberries.
  • 2 cups brown sugar.
  • 1 cup apricot brandy.

Add all ingredients to a saucepan on medium to high heat and stir. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer, leave uncovered. Stir occasionally and let simmer until it reaches the desired thickness and the cranberries are fully cooked (about 1 hr. on very low heat). Makes 6 to 10 servings. Serve it hot or chilled.

From our family to yours; we hope you enjoy this special treat this Thanksgiving!

There are different ways to get to totalitarian socialism but in the end it still results in socialism. In this week’s boralogue, John looks at the extremes of both the Left and the Right and their potential paths to bondage and slavery. Freedom and capitalism are both at the gate to these paths and it’s imperative that we stay there. We must stay vigilant and always fight for our freedoms.

Anti-semitism is back in the news after the shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pennsylvania a couple of weeks ago. Writer on politics and philosophy Paul Austin Murphy (www.paulaustinmurphypam.blogspot.com), discusses the formation of leftist anti-Semitism in Europe and the unlikely union between leftists and hardcore Islamists.

The midterms are over but why is that no matter who we vote into Congress, nothing ever seems to change? Former member of the U.S. House of Representatives Tom Tancredo joins us to explain how things really work in Congress and how immigration was on the mind of the voters as they made their selections this week.

Finally we welcome Andrea Picciotti-Bayer (www.thecatholicassociation.org), Legal Advisor for The Catholic Association, who relates the case of a Catholic diocese in Philadelphia that has been denied their ability to refer children for foster care because of their stance on same sex couples. It’s a battle over ideology but the children are the ones left out.

John’s quote of the week:
The real danger threatening us is the progressive socialism that has completely riddled through the Democrat party, taking many liberals with it, and also through a large part of the Republican party. There is a fight over the Constitution in which we can stay centered in freedom.

In this week’s Section 6, John looks at online hate speech used as a tool to silence political opinions along with several other parallel trends that could hurtle us toward totalitarianism and violence. Are these trends pointing to signs of the end times?

Election mania is dominating the airwaves but there are some sobering stories surrounding the economy and Christian persecution that are flying under the media radar. In this week’s boralogue, John reminds us of the economic cliff on the horizon and then gives us an update on Asia Bibi’s blasphemy case in Pakistan and the latest with Pastor X and his family. There are major changes in both cases so please be in prayer.

With an impending debt crisis looming, how long can we continue to live our normal everyday lives? We look forward with author and former magazine writer James Kunstler (www.kunstler.com) who describes what life could look like if we go through another monetary crash and possible food shortage. He also examines indoctrination in schools that lead to ideologically bad decisions.

With the midterm elections just a few days away, what can we expect from voters and what will the political landscape looks like on November 7? We look forward with author and political forecaster Gerard Lameiro (www.greatnewsforamerica.com) who looks at issues that could affect the election, a better way to forecast the results, and the very real possibility of a more conservative Congress.

John’s quote of the week:
One thing we have seen clearly since the last election has been the disrespect of the progressive elites for the current system. They are willing to call anyone who opposes their ideas idiots, phobes, racists, they will deny you your rights and demand that you honor all these new rights that they make up out of thin air and if you don’t, you know what happens. You have to remember that at these elections.

In this week’s Section 6, John and Producer Steve discuss free speech violations in Europe, President Trump’s pattern with both the media and with world events, and the massive hypocrisy with the media when it comes to civility in politics.

Social Climate

If socialism is such a wonderful concept, why does it always fail and result in tragic results? In this week’s boralogue, John looks at the evils of socialism using Nicaragua and Venezuela as case studies, contrasting the totalitarianism in those countries with the freedoms our Constitution provides here. The media will always praise socialism but we know the truth: it fails whenever it rears its Marxist head.

Social justice has morphed into a politically correct cudgel against free speech, but did it start out that way? Michael Rectenwald (www.springtimeforsnowflakes.com), Liberal Studies Professor at NYU, rejoins the program to discuss how the origins of social justice were rooted in conservatism and family, but from there morphed into its current form of political correctness and totalitarianism.

After so many years of so-called importance, why is the issue of climate change found near the bottom of many people’s concern lists now? Anthony Watts (www.wattsupwiththat.com), Founder and Editor of climate blog Watts Up With That, looks at both the history and future of climate change mania and notes the coercive tactics that alarmists have used to enforce their narrative.

The Catholic Church abuse scandal could be worse than many realize. Philip Lawler (www.catholicculture.org), Director of Catholic Culture, examines the internal politics of the Church, how the Pope factors into it, and the often overlooked need for reform.

John’s quote of the week:
“In free societies, the laws are limited and very clear. In totalitarian societies, they are many and they are vague. That way anyone can be guilty whenever they have to be. So people start self-censoring for fear of arbitrarily violating these norms, which are constantly changing.”

In this week’s Section 6, John contemplates the meaning of life, dives into an alien conspiracy theory, shows the totalitarian mindset among different groups, follows up with news on the Catholic Church, and finishes up with a Christian persecution update.
