In any situation, including the recent Iraqi embassy attack and subsequent deadly drone strike, you have to ask yourself what is true and what is going on. In this week’s boralogue, John busts through some narratives and gives a backgrounder on the Middle East and the groups that have arisen from there. It sets the table for our next guest and gives you a clear and realistic picture of how we got to what happened last week.

Now that we know how we got here, we can look at the now former leader of Iran’s Quds Force, Qassem Soleimani, who was taken out with a drone strike last week. Back with us is Kenneth Timmerman (www.iran.org), President and CEO of the Foundation for Democracy in Iran, who describes the truth of who Soleimani was, what he was involved in, and where Iran goes from here.

Christopher RufoWhat happens when a radical progressive idea, seemingly outlandish, begins to gain traction in serious circles? Christopher Rufo (www.city-journal.org), Contributing Editor at City Journal, joins us to examine the Abolish the Police movement, showing that if it were ever to come to pass, crime and inequality would only deepen.

Education is the key to why we are so divided in America, but it is also being used to radically reform the country. Robert Steven Ingebo, (www.americanthinker.com) Akron, Ohio-based businessman, joins us to look at Deep Equity, a progressive-based reform program that relies heavily on buzzwords like intersectionality, diversity, and changing of norms. It’s the newest version of a formalized teaching system designed to transform our society.

John’s quote of the week:
Everything that you are hearing about the Middle East is being seen through the lens of the leftist media, these spinners of stories, to match their Western narratives, which are divorced from the reality of what’s happening on the ground.

On this week’s extra segment, we play a double feature. You might recognize our first interview (as we played it for you here last summer), but it’s still pertinent and deserves an encore presentation. James Hutchens from June 2012 is up first followed by Reza Kahlili from January 2015, both covering Iran.

Economics is one leg of the geopolitical stool. In this week’s boralogue, John looks at financial indicators and raises a red flag watch on our economy. David McAlvany and Kevin Orrick from McAlvany Weekly Commentary discuss how we are overdue for a recession, and though the economy continues to hum along, indicators are pointing to a likely recession in 2020. How will it affect the election? We’ll have to wait and see.

Myron MagnetIn our continuing series on the Constitution and the founding freedoms of America, we welcome to the program Myron Magnet (www.city-journal.org), Editor-at-Large at City Journal, who examines Clarence Thomas’ efforts in establishing reform in the U.S. judiciary, and looks at the battle between originalists and those who believe in a living, breathing document in interpreting the Constitution. Read Myron Magnet’s Imprimis article ‘Clarence Thomas and the Lost Constitution‘ at Hillsdale College.

Ken TimmermanIt’s time for a Middle East Update and who better to give it than Ken Timmerman (www.iran.org), President of Foundation for Democracy in Iran? He discusses the geopolitical link between Syria, Iran, and Israel as well as tense NATO allies Turkey and the U.S. Is the stage being set for an end times battle against Israel?

John and Producer Steve round out the show covering the Deep State and the latest impeachment effort. Reform is needed and government should be pared down. The President has control of foreign policy, but those in Congress and the Deep State who disagree with that policy are attempting to oust the President via impeachment.

John’s quote of the week:
Economically, are we healthy or are we not? Yes, the economy is buzzing along, but if you look at the underlying fundamentals, there are serious structural problems with the global financial system. It, like our government, is going to have to be reformed at some point.

KYMSIn this week’s Extras segment, we play John’s most recent appearance on KYMS, a local north Idaho radio station, and his monthly martyred church update. He and host Lee Lancaster discuss other topics, including freedom of speech, who gets to determine what hate speech is, and the tendency to compromise parts of the Constitution. They also look at important tidbits such as where on the globe Burkina Faso is located!

Caveat emptor: before you fall for a promise, make sure you’re not being deceived. In this week’s boralogue, John looks at the continued onslaught against the Constitution by those who try to convince us we need a better document, a better country. They want to fundamentally transform America, but transform it into what? The Constitution limits government, so in order for big government to grow, our founding documents must be swept away. Beware of promises to do that; the result will not be a better country.

Jenna Ellis RivesHow are the promises of the Constitution being swept away? Constitutional Law Attorney and conservative speaker Jenna Ellis (@JennaEllisEsq) joined us after her speech a week ago to examine attempts by leftists to pack the courts with activist judges and constantly obstruct the Trump administration as well as the unorthodox and possibility illegitimate process of impeachment currently underway in the House.

David RubinAntisemitism is on the rise in Europe and it’s coming from several sources. David Rubin (www.ShilohIsraelChildren.org), Founder and President of Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund, discusses how Jews are being attacked in Germany and France in part by far right fringe groups but also by a growing number of Muslims there.

Steven MalangaWhy, when progressive policies are implemented in a city, do they rarely make things better? Steven Malanga (www.city-journal.org), Senior Editor at City Journal in New York City joins us to look at why these policies fail as well as an emerging shift toward conservatism in places that have become overwhelmingly intolerable.

John’s quote of the week:
If it says you have rights but later on politicians or courts simply define those rights away to the point where if you try to exercise your rights, it’s not going to stand up – then does the Constitution mean anything? Does it protect anything? The answer is a resounding ‘no.’

Total Truth - Nancy PearceyIn this week’s Extras segment, we travel back 15 years and play an interview with Nancy Pearcey from a September 2004 episode, titled ‘Spitting in the Face of Christ’ where she and John discuss the need for churches to teach core Christian values in the current worldview battle.
