Greek Tragedy

How exactly did Greece end up in this position? In this week’s boralogue, John reviews the steps taken by countries that result in the quagmire Greece finds itself in today. Convincing, yet empty promises evolve into large bureaucracies, corruption, and higher taxes. Inflation results, debts can’t be paid, austerity begins, and people realize that something for nothing is a myth. Politicians play the blame game as banks fail and the very citizens who were to benefit from those convincing promises are left to ponder what happened. Greece is there today. Will the U.S. be there tomorrow?

However did we get here with education? George Bernard Shaw said, “We learn from history that we learn nothing from history.” With Common Core in the classroom, that may literally be the truth. Dennis Cuddy (www.newswithviews.com), former Senior Associate at the U.S. Department of Education, joins us to look at the history of Common Core curriculum, its politically correct selection of topics to teach, and the truth behind what socialist architects were really trying to accomplish.

A day of reckoning is imminent in Greece, as years of bloated government spending have finally caught up to the beleaguered nation. Trinity Advisors founder John Sitilides (www.trilogyadvisors.net) examines the harsh reality of circumstances facing citizens in Greece and how it compares with America’s current financial situation.

Greece’s recent ‘no’ vote on austerity measures will ultimately do little to hold back creditors. Pat Wood (www.technocracyrising.com), Founder of the August Corporation, continues our discussion on Greece by showing how this transformation of the global economy links to the issues of technocracy, sustainable development, and Pope Francis’s recent encyclical on climate change.

Education’s Core Problem

We’re under attack from the “comma buts.” Welcome to Steel on Steel. In John’s boralogue this week, he exposes the hypocrisy of the politically correct elites and their views on free speech. “Freedom of speech is OK – comma but – only if you think the way we do.” We should have the right to express beliefs and ideas that our opponents may find controversial. This PC think is a deadly virus and it’s time we begin quarantining it. I will not sit down. I will not shut up!

The burning alive of the Jordanian pilot by ISIS has dominated the news in the past week. We welcome to the program Dr. Stephen Kirby (www.islamseries.org), retired Los Angeles Police Department investigator, who explores the history of Islam, recounting events and examining Islamic principles as it relates to the burning alive of apostate Muslims and non-Muslims.

Dr. Grazie Pozo Christie (www.thecatholicassociation.org), a diagnostic radiologist in Miami, Florida, discusses free speech and the case of Kelvin Cochran, former Fire Chief of the Atlanta Fire Department, who was fired after his self-published book advocated traditional Biblical marriage between a man and a woman.

Rounding out the program this week, Anita Hoge (abcsofdumbdown.blogspot.com), national speaker and educational consultant and researcher, examines the history of education in America, Common Core, and the dangers of collecting personally identifiable information on children.

Our weekly intelligence news briefing, Section 6!Join us as we continue our weekly intelligence news briefing, Section 6, which features comments by John on important stories making news around the world.

Toward a Militarized Police State – Part IV

Today’s program is the last in our summer thread, “Toward a Militarized Police State.”

John’s boralogue follows last week’s program on the Common Core educational curriculum with an examination of what junior high students knew 100 years ago versus how poorly they’re doing today on far less challenging subjects.

Then columnist James Simpson joins us for an eye-opening revelation of exactly how SWAT teams are being used nowadays. A SWAT raid in Texas a couple of weeks ago on a 3.5 acre community garden yielded nothing but vegetables; not the marijuana they were supposed to find. Even so innocent men and women were handcuffed at gunpoint for long hours.

Mark Nestmann from the Nestmann Group (www.assetprotection2013.com) follows in the next segment. Historically as governments and their central banks approach the end of their inflation game, they inevitably flop around searching for assets to seize from their citizens, which means an imposition of draconian laws plus a demonization of the classes from whom they intend to “attach” money or property. Mark outlines how this process is going on throughout countries in the west that are in trouble financially.

Finally we’ll round out the entire militarization series conversing with Dan Wilson, who’s a law enforcement officer and a long-time listener to the program.
