The coronavirus caused nationwide lock-downs and closures and one of the hardest hit sectors was education. Joining John in the studio today is his wife, Carol, who is an education expert and former homeschool teacher and Rachael Grant, who has homeschooled her kids for the last nine years. They discuss the difference between homeschooling your children and learning via the public school at home – two very different situations. The most important factor in how to educate your children is what is contained in the curriculum.

Socialism: In a Class by Itself

Login to access this full program.

You have to ask critical questions in order to cut through the noise and get to the bottom of any issue. In this week’s boralogue, John looks at several news stories – protests in Ecuador, global warming outrage, calling out hate speech – and asks the critical question in each instance. Once you know what to watch for, getting at the real issue underneath the noise is easy. It’s also essential.

Matthew BunsonThe Amazon Synod is underway in Rome but what is it exactly? Dr. Matthew Bunson (www.ncregister.com), Faculty Chair at Catholic Distance University, joins us to explain the different issues expected to be discussed at the Synod as well as the possibility of certain Catholic traditions being altered.

Richard ThompsonA Christian high school student was told to either recite the Islamic conversion creed for her history class or receive a failing grade. Richard Thompson (www.thomasmore.org), President and Chief Legal Counsel for Thomas More Law Center, discusses the ensuing legal case against the school and points out the double standard behind allowing Islam in schools but not Christianity.

Dr. Ileana JohnsonCollectivism has invaded the classroom in the form of socialist-themed textbooks. Dr. Ileana Johnson (www.ileanajohnson.com), speaker and freelance writer at Canadian Free Press, examines how socialists have infiltrated our education system and shows how history is being revised in America’s schools away from a fact-based curriculum and toward a more globalist feelings-based narrative.

Michael BuslerHas Google cornered the online search market? Is Facebook an internet commons or is it a platform? Michael Busler (www.stockton.edu), Professor of Finance at Stockton University, dives into these questions and asserts that since Google has a stranglehold on online searches, they are able to influence us in retail spaces and even possibly in the voting booth.

John’s quote of the week:
Here’s the killer question: who gets to determine what is and what is not hate speech or disinformation? They inevitably say that it will be a consortium of ‘experts’ or those who supposedly do fact checking. But the real answer you cannot get. And that’s why you never ever want to prevent free speech. It’s totalitarians who are always trying to muzzle free speech – unless of course it’s their speech.

In this week’s Extras segment, we play John’s boralogue, an interview with Art Crino, and a part of a speech John gave at a Steeling the Mind conference – all from the August 13, 2011 episode of Steel. Marxism, Saul Alinsky, and radical changes in America are all discussed.

Historic Illiteracy

How do we know that the information we glean from the internet or hear from the media is actually true? In this week’s boralogue, John looks at language and how it can be manipulated to fit a narrative, examining the historical and Biblical evidence of how language is used. Things we had been told before have now flip-flopped to their opposites. As hypocrisy abounds, the ultimate battle will be over the truth.

Understanding how and on what values our country was founded is paramount in correctly interpreting our history. Jake MacAulay (www.theamericanview.com), Chief Executive Officer of the Institution on the Constitution, details the rights afforded us under both the Declaration and the Constitution, the source of those rights, and the need better education our youth to their importance.

When did education shift from a traditional curriculum to a more progressive one? Steve Abrams (www.cottonwoodanimalclinic.com), former member of the Kansas State Board of Education, discusses how education has changed over the years and offers solutions on how to think outside the progressive box and reach children with the truth.

John finishes up the program this week dissecting an audio clip from a disciplinary hearing on a Canadian college campus. A student was told she violated the human rights of her fellow classmates, but in the end, it was her rights that were trampled on.

John’s quote of the week:
In order to run socialism, you have to tax heavily and inflate heavily and this always comes to financial, economic, sociological, and especially moral bankruptcy as it all unravels.

In this week’s Section 6, John gives a lesson in how to argue with someone logically point by point. Then, he reads a letter from a law professor to his students on how to think without political correctness. He also discusses Trump’s tactics in dealing with his opponents. Lastly, John reviews many of the climate change narrative problems amidst the current cold snap.

We offer our prayers and support to the family and friends of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia who passed away last week. His death has stirred up a political firestorm as to who the next appointee will be. In this week’s boralogue, John takes a look at what the Constitution says, how it’s interpreted, and the dangers of judicial activism in the country’s highest court. Does the law mean what it says or does it mean what the elites want it to mean right now?

We then shift gears as John analyzes a recent report from Russia’s newspaper, Pravda, detailing a high-level meeting between Vladimir Putin and Henry Kissinger. Worldwide financial systems may be coming to an end soon. Make ready the chessboard as international players begin jockey for position. Where will the United States land?

Egypt, a strategic player on our global chessboard, is uniquely positioned in Middle East affairs. Joining us this week is Raymond Stock (www.meforum.org), Instructor of Arabic at Louisiana State University and former resident of Egypt, who discusses the country’s succession of leadership in the past seven years and its relationship with Israel and with the Islamists who thirst for control.

Finally, we swing to China and the hundreds of millions of Christians who reside there. Elizabeth Kendal (www.elizabethkendal.com), Adjunct Research Fellow at Melbourne School of Theology, exposes the rarely reported persecution of Christians by the Communists party in China and the slow global infiltration of Marxist ideology into schools, media, and entertainment.

John’s quote of the week:
“In the ongoing environment of redefinition, the courts are discovering all sorts of ‘new’ rights in the Constitution that are created out of thin air. New rights trump old established rights, which are clearly established in the Constitution. If the law doesn’t mean what it says, does it mean anything at all?”

As always, join us online for our Section 6 intelligence briefing featuring analysis by John on important stories highlighting emerging geopolitical trends around the world.

Shall Not Have Died in Vain

As we celebrate our great nation’s 239th birthday, it is important to remember that this country was founded not on the principle tolerance, but of freedom. The many problems we face to today with racial issues or same sex marriage could be solved rather simply: we’ll each have the freedom to do what we want and we’ll respect each other’s right to do it. The solution, however, does not appear to be that simple. Instead, “tolerance” prevails, allowing one group to shut down debate and demand everyone march in lockstep. With freedoms deteriorating, we would ask the founders and soldiers who worked so hard to preserve those freedoms: was it worth it?

Like many of you, we are taking a break this week to celebrate the Independence Day holiday. Today’s program features a presentation John gave on Memorial Day this year at Candlelight Christian Fellowship in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. He asks whether those brave men and women died in vain to protect our freedoms. We are exchanging one set of rights for another set of rights, and the rights we were given under the Constitution are being ignored. In fact, they are slowly eroding. Buy a copy of this important presentation called: Shall Not Have Died in Vain, in our Media Store.

How did this happen? John recalls the history of the educational system in America and its gradual decline due to Marxism. He points out the contradictions posed by the media elite in revising our country’s history. The question of whether they died in vain can only be answer by us. Will we fight against this infiltration? Will we, with one loud voice, declare, “I will not sit down! I will not shut up!”

Section 6 is on hiatus for the holiday week, but rest assured, John will be back next week to comment on important stories highlighting emerging geopolitical trends around the world.
