Marxism vs. Freedom

Happy Memorial Day, everyone. Who or what are we memorializing this holiday weekend? In this week’s abbreviated boralogue, John looks at upholding the Constitution and the morals and values that helped establish this country. If we don’t, our country may just disappear.

One of the ideologies looking to supplant freedom and capitalism in America is that of Marxism. Paul Kengor (www.visionandvalues.org), Executive Director of the Center of Vision and Values at Grove City College, joins us to refute defenders of Marxism who say that it just hasn’t ever been successfully implemented, and shows how progressives have adopted Marxist thought in their attempt to gain power.

Facebook has embarked on a campaign to silence conservatives online. Jim Hoft (www.thegatewaypundit.com), author and founder of The Gateway Pundit, describes how his website has been affected and asserts that since conservatives helped elect Donald Trump, social media sites are muzzling them so that it doesn’t happen again.

John and Producer Steve give a brief update in the Russiagate saga, focusing on the impending release of a report from the Office of the Inspector General. Then John and Tom Read, (www.acn.cc), head of American Christian Network and owner of several radio stations in the Pacific Northwest wax nostalgic about days of broadcast past, discussing the history of radio news and how the Internet is affecting it today.

John’s quote of the week:
If we keep battering on our foundational documents, which will tear them apart, we may discover we’ll get everything we want, except that the whole thing will have fallen apart. We can’t allow that. Otherwise, all of those people we remember this weekend, they truly will have died in vain.

Section 6 is on a Memorial Day weekend break but will return next week with more geopolitical stories from around the world.

All I Want for Christmas is the Truth

In this world of fake news and broken political promises, where can we find the truth? In this week’s Christmas boralogue, John looks at the source of truth – the Way, the Truth, and the Life himself – Jesus Christ. In the search for truth, you have to ask if Jesus was who he said he was and if he died and rose again. The answer is yes on both counts. Will you base your life on the solid rock of Truth or on shifting sand? This Christmas and always, we truly hope it is on Truth.

Selection of which story gets to be posted online has turned into censorship. Joe Lauria (www.consortiumnews.com), veteran foreign affairs correspondent based at the United Nations, recounts his experience after one of his online articles critical of the Left was taken down with no explanation given. Media censorship is growing and the rise of independent media is important to push back against it.

Who are the biggest violators of free speech on the internet? Sarah Chaffee (www.discovery.org), Education & Public Policy Program Officer at the Discovery Institute, discusses how Facebook, Twitter, and especially Wikipedia are violating freedoms by allowing only some information to be posted online.

Finally, we get away from the hectic nature of the news by speaking with successful television sports director Dave Burchett (www.wakingupslowly.com), who examines the need to reconnect with and focus on God when life distracts you. Pray that you would take the time to hear God through all the noise and obey him in all things.

John’s quote of the week:
What has been truly interesting over the last 20 years as Christmas drifts further and further in the public arena away from the idea of Christ’s birthday, has been the effort to promote eternal truths by using non-truths or blurry truths to do it – a result of the post-modern way of looking at things.

In a special holiday edition of Section 6, we air John’s recent appearance on ‘Stand Up For The Truth’ from 12/12/17 dealing with liberal group-think and how to talk to liberals.

Hate Speech Not Included

Germany once faced a grim choice: Marxism or Nazism. Today in America, we have the Marxist Antifa group and the white nationalist Nazis. In this week’s boralogue, John looks at those two choices and notes that, despite the message of those who would try to divide us, we do have a third choice: a Constitutional government that allows freedom. It’s always worked. The real battle is between totalitarianism and freedom. It’s time to make our voice heard and choose wisely.

Those who espouse views different from the accepted politically correct narrative are being squeezed out of social media. Paula Bolyard (www.pjmedia.com), Supervising Editor at PJ Media, discusses the new hate news index algorithms being used by Google and Facebook to flag “hate speech” and remove it from the internet.

Democratic socialism is a myth, but that doesn’t stop people from pointing to Norway and Sweden as successful examples of it. Nima Sanandaji (www.ecepr.org), President of the European Center for Entrepreneurship and Policy Reform, examines the fiction of democratic socialism and the benefits of free markets and strong work ethic over big government welfare.

Does voter fraud exist? Is it wrong to require an ID to vote? Irene Garcia (www.judicalwatch.org), Investigative Reporter at Judicial Watch joins us to discuss these issues as well as report on a case out of Massachusetts where federal authorities have discovered fake IDs were being sold to illegal immigrants who later voted in an election in Boston.

Finally we welcome back author and historian Bill Federer (www.americanminute.com) who gives us the history of hate speech back to the American and French Revolutions and reveals a long, drawn-out plan to deconstruct our past, change our history, and allow young students to forget what makes America the great country it is.

John’s quote of the week:
Nazism and Marxism are two sides of the same socialist totalitarian coin. And today, if you listen to some of the discourse, the United States is being offered the very same choice: Antifa neo-Marxism or neo-Nazi racism – as if there were no other choice. There is: a return to constitutional government that has provided us with so much freedom and prosperity.

Coming up in Section 6: natural disasters and emergency preparedness, looking logically at the global warming issue, a Christian persecution update, and a detailed primer on logic and critical thinking.

Charlie Gard, the British newborn boy with a rare brain disease passed away this week, but his death may not be in vain. In this week’s boralogue, John looks at socialized medicine, death panels, and bureaucracies, and points out that the patient is always the last to be considered. Free health care isn’t free and little Charlie’s death has reminded us of that.

Also John dissects Fareed Zakaria’s comments about Trump voters in our brand new clip of the week.

Climate data from NASA and the IPCC have not been collected properly, which has led to many untrue predictions. Environmentalist and author Tim Ball (www.drtimball.com) shares his experience fighting against climate inaccuracies, demanding that evidence be produced to back up alarmists’ claims.

Property rights are important in a free society. Christina Martin (www.pacificlegal.org), Attorney at Pacific Legal Foundation, discusses one of her cases involving a church in Michigan that lost their property to the state and how taking away property rights brings us one step closer to losing our free country.

Did Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook just agree to adhere to Pakistan’s blasphemy laws online? Author and lecturer Meira Svirsky (www.clarionproject.org) joins us to examine political correctness on the internet, hierarchies among victim classes, and the need to strongly enforce free speech laws here and around the world.

John’s quote of the week:
“Normally socialized healthcare flows this way: the government gets first say, the healthcare insurers and payers get second say, then the healthcare providers whose jobs depend on the government payer system get third say, and that’s pretty much it. Oh, did we forget? I’m sorry! You’re the patient, aren’t you? Well, you’re down at the bottom of the totem pole.”

This week on our Section 6 Intelligence Brief, John discusses the upcoming solar eclipse, the fascinating historical significance of the Jewish observance of Tisha B’Av, currency & inflation, and the growing problem of socialized medicine.
