Election mania is dominating the airwaves but there are some sobering stories surrounding the economy and Christian persecution that are flying under the media radar. In this week’s boralogue, John reminds us of the economic cliff on the horizon and then gives us an update on Asia Bibi’s blasphemy case in Pakistan and the latest with Pastor X and his family. There are major changes in both cases so please be in prayer.

With an impending debt crisis looming, how long can we continue to live our normal everyday lives? We look forward with author and former magazine writer James Kunstler (www.kunstler.com) who describes what life could look like if we go through another monetary crash and possible food shortage. He also examines indoctrination in schools that lead to ideologically bad decisions.

With the midterm elections just a few days away, what can we expect from voters and what will the political landscape looks like on November 7? We look forward with author and political forecaster Gerard Lameiro (www.greatnewsforamerica.com) who looks at issues that could affect the election, a better way to forecast the results, and the very real possibility of a more conservative Congress.

John’s quote of the week:
One thing we have seen clearly since the last election has been the disrespect of the progressive elites for the current system. They are willing to call anyone who opposes their ideas idiots, phobes, racists, they will deny you your rights and demand that you honor all these new rights that they make up out of thin air and if you don’t, you know what happens. You have to remember that at these elections.

In this week’s Section 6, John and Producer Steve discuss free speech violations in Europe, President Trump’s pattern with both the media and with world events, and the massive hypocrisy with the media when it comes to civility in politics.

New Year Turning

The year is coming to a close and 2016 has seen a major shift in geopolitics. In this week’s boralogue, John shows that we are entering a fourth turning crisis and explains how this can happen either democratically or via a strongman. Both options have their pros and cons. New Year’s is a time of renewal and change. How will that happen? Stay tuned.

Who is Vladimir Putin and how did he come to power? David Satter (www.hudson.org), Senior Fellow at the Hudson Institute examines the history of Russia’s president and what U.S.-Russia relations may look like between presidents Putin and Trump.

The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) has tenuous ties to Hamas. Kyle Shideler (www.centerforsecuritypolicy.org), Director of Threat Information at the Center for Security Policy explores these connections and shows that political correctness in the U.S. has resulted in problems both in the media and at the FBI.

Finally, we round out the year with a conversation on economics. Jim Puplava (www.financialsense.com), President of Puplava Financial Services joins us to discuss changes in geopolitics over the past few years, the current financial paradigm shift, and future economic trends.

John’s quote of the week:
“Remember as we open the new year that governments come and go, cycles come and go and repeat as people try to create utopia on earth. But there is a time coming which scripture promises will be a utopia led by Jesus Christ, the King of kings.”

Our Section 6 intelligence brief is on holiday hiatus but we will return in 2017 with more analysis by John on important stories highlighting emerging geopolitical trends around the world.

Legal Issues

Has the humanist movement succeeded in replacing Christianity as the foundation for a moral and ethical way of life? In this week’s boralogue, John looks at efforts by humanists throughout history to establish their own system of morality apart from God. But every issue or rule preached at us by secular humanists, whether it be tolerance or discrimination or racism, has no value once you remove God and Christianity from the picture.

Why aren’t churches allowed to convey political messages from the pulpit? Erik Stanley (www.adflegal.org), Senior Counsel at Alliance Defending Freedom, discusses the history of the Johnson Amendment, which allows for the IRS to threaten a church’s right to free speech by potentially censoring the language of sermons.

If a presidential candidate is elected in November and then either dies or becomes incapacitated before January 20, who is inaugurated as president? Constitutional law attorney Jenna Ellis (www.jennaellis.org) shows us the answer and looks at qualifications needed to vote and those required to be President.

Our next legal issue involves gender identity and the violation of security in school restrooms. Matt Sharp (www.adflegal.org), Attorney with Alliance Defending Freedom examines the latest case in Minnesota, the involvement of Title IX, and how the government threatens to withhold federal school funding in order to force their agenda on the school.

Has the post-WWII era ended and if so what does that mean? R.R. Reno (www.firstthings.com), Editor of First Things Magazine, joins us to discuss the shifting paradigms in our society, the inconsistent viewpoints of our current presidential candidates, and how traditional beliefs are changing. The fourth turning crisis is ahead. Will we reform or will we deteriorate?

John’s quote of the week:
“Humanists would have to develop their own basis for morality, ethics, and laws to replace Christianity which in the beginning they felt sure their goddess of logic and reason would provide for them. After 100 years of trial and mostly error, we can honestly say that their goddess of logic and reason didn’t deliver.”
