How did the terms ‘Palestinian people’ and ‘Israeli occupation’ originate? In this week’s boralogue, John looks at the history of Israel, Jerusalem, the West Bank, and Gaza along with the people groups that have occupied those areas. It wasn’t until Israel gained control of the area as a nation that the plight of the Palestinians and occupied territories became controversial issues.

The mental health of children is being tracked in schools and many parents aren’t even aware. Alex Newman (www.thenewamerican.com), Correspondent with The New American, analyzes how school systems are defining mental health, how children are being indoctrinated, and the effect religion plays in education.

Science textbooks are being stripped of anything that contradicts evolution. Jonathan Wells (www.discovery.org), Senior Fellow at the Discovery Institute, discusses how God has been methodically removed from classrooms and textbooks over the past few decades and how efforts to turn it around are slow to materialize.

Finally, if we are going to talk about Islam and sharia law, we should know exactly what they are. Bill Warner (www.politicalislam.com), Director of the Center for the Study of Political Islam shares his knowledge of Islam and its system of laws and shows that despite the efforts of politically correct elites to sanitize sharia, the freedoms we share in this country would erode under Islamic law.

John’s quote of the week:
“When we talk about mental health (in schools) today, we’re not just talking about whether they have serious disorders or other things which need addressing, but quite frequently whether or not they are believing politically correct attitudes. (Those with) politically incorrect attitudes are perceived as being mentally ill.”

This week in our Section 6 intelligence Brief: the hypocrisy of Leftist views, the possibilities of a California secession, the problem of government overreach, and the looming Net Neutrality battle.

What is truth? In this week’s boralogue, Johns examines church members who are claiming to be Christians but don’t believe in Christ and atheist ministers who still want to lead their church congregations. Why be part of a belief system you don’t believe in? There is such a thing as absolute truth, even for those who claim there isn’t. If you believe in truth, it makes a demand upon you that you live according to that truth. But politicians and many in the church today adhere to a politically correct version of reality that stands in opposition to actual truth. One day they will come to realize — as all of us will — that truth is reality and it always wins out.

We continue our thread this week highlighting Christian persecution and welcome to the program Nasir Bhatti (www.pakistanchristiancongress.org), President of the Pakistan Christian Congress. He examines the delays that Christians encounter in receiving refugee status from the United Nations and touches on the immigration problems facing Europe.

“The nine most terrifying words in the English language,” former President Ronald Reagan once said, “are, ‘I’m from the government and I’m here to help.’ “One might urge the government to look up the word ‘help’ in the dictionary. The EPA, an element of said government, has launched a campaign to control every drop of water in the United States, even at the expense of property rights and it’s causing a retain in many states.

Seton Motley (www.lessgovernment.org), President of Less Government and hydrologist Dr. Jay Lehr (www.heartland.org), Science Director at the Heartland Institute, discuss the agency’s overreach and regulations and propose a plan to phase out federal control in favor of state responsibility. Can it be implemented or will it slowly drown in a sea of bureaucracy?

John finishes up with a behind the scenes look at Roman Catholicism, papal infallibility, and the weight of authority behind papal teaching and how that is affecting geopolitics.

As always, join us online for our Section 6 intelligence briefing featuring analysis by John on important stories highlighting emerging geopolitical trends around the world. This week, John takes a look at capitalism and the refugee crisis in Europe.

We’ll kick off the show in John’s boralogue by comparing constitutional rights with the new category of “human rights,” and explaining why this has placed the Constitution on life support. Constitutional rights are granted as being inherent or God-given, whereas human rights require one person to sacrifice constitutional rights and be forced to provide something for another person for free.

What happens when faulty science teams up with religion? Cornell University Adjunct Professor Matt Briggs (www.wmbriggs.com) explores the Vatican’s curious involvement in anthropogenic global warming along with Pope Francis’s upcoming papal encyclical on environmentalism, and how continued pressure to believe erroneous studies is damaging the scientific process and perhaps the credibility of religion.

The Obama administration has recently claimed dominion over America’s waterways, changing the current “navigable waterways” definition to “all waterways.” The interstate commerce clause of the Constitution was never intended to be tortured to this level. Mark Baird (www.soj51.net), President of northern California water rights group Scott Valley Protect Our Water, explains regulatory mismanagement in California and advocates standing up against government overreach. He relates this to the campaign to create what would be the nation’s 51st state, the State of Jefferson, from several of California’s northernmost counties.

We’re beginning a thread to examine socialist policies in South America and their relevance today to U.S. security. Russell Dallen (www.laht.com), President and Editor of the Latin American Herald Times, relates important observations of Venezuela’s poverty and economic ruin under Chavez and Maduro, and touches on Argentina’s questionable financial practices over the past decade.
