Comments from a closed door meeting were all the rage in the news this week. But is it really important? In this week’s boralogue, John looks at the underlying issues inside of – shall we say – outhouse countries and the importance of assimilation for those who immigrate here. Why are the media spending so much time dissecting comments and ignoring the real issue of what’s happening in these countries?

In our clip of the week, Dr. Ze’ev Maghen, Chair of Middle Eastern History at Bar-Ilan University in Israel, speaks about the Iran protest as well as Sunnis and Shias in Iran and the Muslim world.

Since the media won’t cover the Iranian protests, we’ll talk with someone who will. Ken Timmerman (www.iran.org), President and CEO of the Foundation for Democracy in Iran joins us to discuss how these protests are different from those in 1979 and 2009 and why the powers that be in the West seem to favor the regime.

Did conservative social media sites have an impact on the 2016 election? John Hawkins (www.rightwingnews.com), head of Right Wing News online, believes they did and now the social media giants are doing all they can to ban or otherwise impede the free speech and outreach of conservative accounts and pages.

Jesus said that Christians would not be popular with culture, but progressives within the church are trying to move Christian thought toward popularity. Author and retired cold-case homicide detective J. Warner Wallace (www.casemakersacademy.com) advocates for stronger teaching of traditional Biblical principles and preparing our youth to defend their faith in secular society and in the church.

Finally, John takes a look at the history of fake news and how we arrived at the somewhat dysfunctional mainstream press we have today. There is a war on freedom of speech and we are all – media and consumers alike – fighters in that war.

John’s quote of the week:
Your religious worldview base will establish your ethics and your morals, which establishes what you view in terms of law, in terms of economics, and in terms of society. You can’t separate these things out – they are all one.

In this week’s Section 6, John looks at globalist history and the tactics they use, which explains their hatred toward Donald Trump who fights against them. He goes on to discuss the change in global temperatures away from heating and how the alarmists are pushing us in the wrong direction. Minority unemployment is down – how much of that is attributable to the President? Finally, John examines Christian persecution and no-go zones in Sweden.

Can we honestly say that we are thankful this holiday season? In this week’s boralogue, John looks at the saving grace by faith provided by our Savior and it is through that faith that we have our greatest freedom. We have constitutional freedoms in this country as well and we risk losing them when we don’t thank the God who allowed us to live under them. So love God, love one another, and treat everyone with respect. We can all be thankful for that.

Plus, don’t miss John’s annual cranberry recipe. Make sure to have your ID handy when purchasing ingredients!

How does the Middle East chess board, with its complex interacting pieces, look today? Kevin Freeman (www.globaleconomicwarfare.com), Founder and CEO of Freeman Global, points out that economic and geopolitical warning lights are going off in the Middle East between Saudi Arabia, Israel, Iran, and of course the United States.

Why is the 1917 Balfour Declaration suddenly controversial today? Author and retired attorney Rick Richman (www.jpundit.typepad.com) answers that question and explains why a two-state solution always fails, even when a vast majority of demands are met.

What happens when a campus religious group espouses the same beliefs as their religious institution, but is still called a hate group? Ashley McGuire (www.thecatholicassociation.org), Senior Fellow with The Catholic Association, examines political correctness on campus and the denial of first amendment freedoms.

John’s quote of the week:
I’ve been wondering if all of these people screaming about rights and oppression really recognize how well off they are compared with the rest of the world. You want to see oppression? Come with me to certain countries in the world and I’ll show you oppression. And if you live to escape from it, you can tell other people about it.”

This week in Section 6: John discusses the politics behind the recent Roy Moore accusations, how the Clintons have outlasted their usefulness, the Pope’s views on climate change — the Paris Accord, and facts. We’ll also talk about the spiritual dynamic behind much of our current events, and finally, the real tax plan being proposed.

Language and words are important in today’s political and theological debates, but leftists are looking to shut down debate by changing the definitions of words. In this week’s boralogue, John shows the devolution of free speech in Berkeley from the 1960s through today. We can allow people to speak as we do in a free society. We can ban all speech as they do in totalitarian countries. Or we pick and choose like we’re doing now.

The Iran agreement in 2015 by the Obama administration has had problems from the outset. Emily Landau (www.inss.org.il), Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for National Security Studies in Israel examines the agreement’s shortcomings and how the United States will proceed with Iran under President Trump.

Narratives by the Left and the media about Russian collusion with Donald Trump have turned out to be untrue. Cliff Kincaid (www.aim.org), Director of the Center for Investigative Journalism at Accuracy in Media joins us to discuss narrative spinning once wiretap allegations against Team Trump proved to be true and what’s really happening behind the scenes between Russia and the U.S.

Socialism has never succeeded at any time in history and current events in Venezuela are no exception. Marian Tupy (www.cato.org), Senior Policy Analyst at the Cato Institute, relates his experience growing up in Communist Czechoslovakia, explaining the realities of socialism, and warns us that the U.S. is walking down a dangerous path.

John’s quote of the week:
“Speech that upsets people is not protected but it’s OK when their speech upsets people. And despite all the blather about what speech is protected and what isn’t, since shaming isn’t working anymore, the whole effort now is to shut people up while pretending that you’re not shutting people up.”

This week during our Section 6 Intelligence Briefing, John addresses the topic of freedom of speech as well as more coverage on the ‘Fake News’ phenomenon.

Legacy

Middle East peace talks begin this weekend in Paris while neither Israel nor any Palestinian group has been invited. In this week’s boralogue, John looks at the history of the term Palestinian, who actually occupied the West Bank and Gaza before 1967, and the most likely outcome of the talks: a plan for a two-state solution. How will this affect the area’s future?

A bill was recently signed into law that would establish a government office to disseminate U.S. foreign policy and to combat fake news. In other words, we may soon have an official Ministry of Truth. We welcome back Alex Newman (www.thenewamerican.com), Correspondent for The New American, who points out that certain journalists could be labeled as illegitimate just for disagreeing with the government.

As we air our final show of the Obama administration era, we are taking a look at the president’s legacy. Fox News Strategic Analyst Lt. Col. Ralph Peters (www.foxnews.com) examines the weakened status and poor morale in our military and what Trump can do to improve it. He also analyzes foreign policy issues concerning Russia, China, and Iran.

President Obama has touted his legacy as positive in nearly every respect, however the truth lies far below that. Jeffery Tucker (www.fee.org), Director of Content for the Foundation for Economic Education discusses the president’s poor handling of the economy, including implementing both Obamacare and oppressive business regulations.

Leftists have been operating from the Alinsky playbook for decades, but now President-elect Trump is using those same methods against them. Dr. Tome Borelli (www.conservativereview.com), Contributor at Conservative Review contrasts how Trump is using companies to lobby for tax reform versus how Obama used drug companies to lobby for Obamacare and bigger government.

John’s quote of the week:
“I’m sure people would like to see peace in the Middle East but you have to ask on what terms and at what cost. Given the current biases present in the United Nations against Israel, those are very sobering questions.”

As always, join us online for our Section 6 intelligence briefing featuring analysis by John on important stories highlighting emerging geopolitical trends around the world.
