What’s the difference between a hypocrite and one who fails to live up to his or her own standards? In this week’s boralogue, John looks at the cover-up in the Catholic Church and how scandal and major changes seem to happen in the Church every 500 years. There’s a failure to take ownership of the sin and though an issue may be fixed, the cause of that issue remains.

America hasn’t had slavery for 150 years but it does still exist in other parts of the world. Charles Jacobs (www.peaceandtolerance.org), President of Americans for Peace and Tolerance, shows where slavery thrives today and why human rights organizations in the West are silent about it.

What happens when Mahmoud Abbas rejects whatever solution to the peace process the Trump administration proposes? Ariel Ben Solomon (www.jns.org), Deputy Online Editor at Jewish News Syndicate and a resident of Israel, describes the philosophy of Hamas when it comes to dealing with the West and how Western solutions may not work in the Middle East.

America is awful and racist and was founded on horrible precepts, so says liberal academia and modern leftists. John Zmirak (www.stream.org), Senior Editor at The Stream, shows how this progressive mindset was fractured with the election of Donald Trump, which further explains the outrage that has followed.

John and Producer Steve finish off the show this week discussing the war on free speech in America from suppressing conservative speech online to constantly accusing Right-leaning thinkers and candidates of “racism” when it in fact doesn’t exist.

John’s quote of the week:
“The real core problem we’re having is the inability to dissent in whole or in part from some of the things that are being discussed, and to offer logical and reasonable arguments. What you get back is flack, ad hominem attacks, and clichéd attacks; that’s always the mark of a losing side.”

In this week’s Section 6, we celebrate Labor Day by airing a recent interview John did with Stand Up For the Truth with Mike LeMay on Q90FM in Wisconsin. John discusses the true goals of the progressive movement, the crisis in the Roman Catholic Church, and the future of the evangelical movement.

Postmodernism Circling the Drain

Can fake news, alternative facts, and postmodern relative truths all exist simultaneously? Of course not. In this week’s boralogue, John shows that postmodernists for years have denied absolute truth but are now proclaiming the reality of alternative facts and fake news. Alternative facts could be flagged as lies but if truth is relative, who gets to determine what’s true? It’s a rickety narrative that threatens to torpedo the postmodernist ideal.

Why are we seeing postmodern thought take such a hit following Brexit and Trump’s election as President? David Ernst (www.thefederalist.com), Board Member of the Robertson Foundation for Government examines the contradictions and hypocrisy behind postmodern views and points out that the ideology is crumbling because people are not content swimming in a sea of relative truths.

Multiculturalism grows directly out of postmodern thought. We welcome back John Zmirak (www.stream.org), Senior Editor at The Stream who shows that secularism in Europe and multicultural ideologies around the world have been popular of late but Europeans and Americans are beginning to notice the bankruptcy behind the narrative.

For years, many people labeled as right wing extremists have embraced the prepper lifestyle, but now that Donald Trump has taken office, those on the left are following suit. Shane Kavanaugh (www.vocativ.com), West Coast Bureau Chief at Vocativ Magazine joins us to discuss various reactions to the impending so-called Trumpocalypse.

John’s quote of the week:
“Why is it that postmodernists don’t like strict constructionists (like Judge Neil Gorsuch)? Because they make confident assertions about what the Constitution says. Postmodernists want it to be a living breathing document so they can change it whenever they feel like it needs to be changed.”

Dropping the Bomb

Virtually all government agencies are bogged down with myriad regulations and reform is needed. In this week’s boralogue, John points out that despite dumping mining waste chemicals into Colorado’s Animas River, the EPA continues their quest to control all water in the United States, regardless of homeowners’ property rights. Accountability is needed, demonization of average citizens should cease, and justice should be administered fairly. American citizens should not be looked at as the enemy. Our rights are slowly eroding away, and when they vanish, it will be quite some time before we get them back.

We continue our thread this week on the thoughts and actions of Pope Francis with a roundtable discussion on papal advisor Cardinal Oscar Rodriguez Madariaga. Rejoining the program are John Zmirak (www.saveourcentury.com), senior editor at TheStream.org, and Jorge Velarde Rosso (www.acton.org), senior researcher at the Acton Institute in Argentina. Cardinal Madariaga has gone on record with anti-Semitic beliefs, accusing Jews of conspiracies against the church, and has advised the Pope that big government can solve the problems of the world that capitalism failed to. With the Pope speaking to the U.N. General Assembly in late September, will the concept of sustainable development take hold and attempt to establish a one world government?

In the early 21st century, the West associates yoga with posture, flexibility, and exercise. Michael Austin (www.publishthegoodnews.com), founder of the Christian communications ministry Publish the Good News, and a former yoga teacher, examines the history and function of yoga from its religious role in Hinduism to its completely different Westernized version. Is it harmless or a plan to introduce pantheism to a Christian nation?

The United States dropped two atomic bombs on Japan 70 years ago this month. Retired MIT Physics Professor Hale Bradt (www.wilburswar.com), is author of the Wilbur’s War trilogy, a tale of the Pacific Theater during WWII culled from letters written by his father, a U.S. soldier. He discusses the moral controversy of dropping the bombs and contends that in doing so, we may have prevented a far great number of casualties that would have died during the invasion of Japan.

Outrage is all the, well, rage these days. In this week’s boralogue, John examines stories generating much indignation in the news. First, the Obama administration wants to ban gun ownership for Social Security recipients, who lack the mental capacity to manage their own affairs. Question: who determines mental capacity? Also, when Democratic presidential candidate Martin O’Malley recently said that all lives matter, he was booed by outraged protestors and later apologized! It should be a level playing field. We all have inherent rights that should apply to everyone equally. It’s a novel concept found in the Declaration of Independence. There are those who are destroying the moral foundation they stand on for the sake of being outraged.

Predictions are useful only if someone listens and takes heed. Back for another appearance is former Senior Associate at the U.S. Department of Education, Dennis Cuddy (www.newswithviews.com), who recalls many accurate predictions he made in 2013 and forecasts potential terrorist threats just around the corner, including large scale forest fires, poison spray at grocery stores, and IEDs damaging our transportation systems.

This week an undercover group exposed a profit-making scheme selling fetal body parts by Planned Parenthood. John Zmirak (www.saveourcentury.com), Senior Editor at The Stream, joins us and calls for the defunding of America’s largest abortion factory. He uncovers the history of the organization and its racist founder, Margaret Sanger, who would use any issue to advance her core ideology, built on an eroding foundation of sexual liberation and population control.

Joe Baker (www.savethestorks.com), Founder and President of Save the Storks, is on the front line in the abortion battle. Instead of protesting in anger, he shows how God continues to lead his organization’s efforts to educate expectant mothers outside abortion clinics so they can make an educated choice.

John transitions into a second boralogue imploring that each of us individually can stand up and make a difference in this world and that is things look darker, we should be more optimistic rather than worse. Through prayer and petition, God lead us to His good work.

Finally, we’ll continue the thread surrounding Pope Francis’s words and actions. Jorge Velarde Rosso (www.acton.org), Founder and Research Director of LIBERA in Bolivia, gives us a Bolivian Catholic’s perspective on the Pope’s recent visit to South America. Professor Rosso admits his distress at the Pope’s embrace of extreme leftist politics, but reveals he is not surprised given the political climate in Latin America.
