How has utopian thinking fared during this virus crisis? In this week’s boralogue, John looks at how the utopian ideologies of the European Union are being forced and held down in order to try to make them work. But reality keeps rearing its stubborn head. This crisis has highlighted that bureaucrats will always behave like bureaucrats, but you have to end-run bureaucracy in order to get anything constructive done.

Steve ByasPotpourri show this week – first guest is Steve Byas (www.oklahomaconstitution.com), Professor of History and Government at Randall University in Oklahoma. He examines the possibility of our temporary suspension of freedoms lasting longer than the crisis and whether it will be used as a precedent in the future.

Steven MosherThen we look at the threat from China with Steven Mosher (www.pop.org), President of the Population Research Institute, who discusses the geopolitical danger with China as well as the irony of how those who are politically correct will defend China despite the human rights abuses committed there.

Jason SneadWill this crisis affect state primary elections now or the federal election in November? Jason Snead (www.honestelections.org), Executive Director of the Honest Elections Project, analyzes the postponement process and covers voter ID, suppression, and fraud.

Dexter Van ZileThere are hot spots of religious persecution around the world, but Europe seems to be hotter than most. Dexter Van Zile (www.camera.org), Christian Media Analyst for CAMERA, shows how both Christians and Jews are being persecuted in Europe and highlights a TV host’s incorrect information on Iran.

Rounding out the program this week, John looks at a variety of topics including political correctness and its tendency to harm us, how statistics inform decisions which inform statistics, and the slowly fading narrative of anthropogenic global warming during this pandemic.

John’s quote of the week:
During this time, much of what governments will do will be unconstitutional. We have to be careful that these things do not become prolonged and then permanently embedded. Typically when rights go away, they for some reason just don’t seem to come back. Why? Because rights are a restriction on government.

ChinaOn this week’s extra segment, we play another double feature. First up, Robert Haddock from October 2014 on Chinese economic and military expansion. We then transition to Joshua Philipp from July 2016 on the China threat, including espionage and disinformation. These interview are interesting for their time and even more so now in the light of the coronavirus threat that originated in China.

It has been a very busy news week, so John will tackle two stories in this week’s boralogue. First up is the Coronavirus, which originated in the central China city of Wuhan. John looks at the facts and how it’s possible that this could be a virus weaponization situation that got out of control. He then pivots to the new peace plan, recounting a few details and whether or not the Palestinians will eventually come to the table.

Joshua PhilippHow does socialism, which fails every time it is implemented, become so popular with media and with students in the West? Answer: lack of education about it. Joshua Philipp (www.theepochtimes.com), Senior Editor at The Epoch Times newspaper, joins us to give a history of Marxism and what it does to a society and how communism tries to supplant religion by becoming its own so-called morality system.

John takes a moment, as Brexit has finally come, to give a backgrounder on the European Union. He plays Nigel Farage’s farewell speech at the EU Parliament this week, highlighting the group’s lust for power, their ability to thwart the will of the people by ignoring referenda, and the rise of pro-sovereignty and populist movements in the West.

Climate Change: A Convenient TruthFinally, we welcome author and retired businessman Jim Hollingsworth (www.co2coalition.org) who discusses his new climate manual that clearly explains several issues surrounding the climate change controversy. Get the manual in kindle or paperback on Amazon here.

John’s quote of the week:
If religion, meaning the religion of the people, does not act as the value system of government, then the government will create its own value system and force it down on the people. That’s what you’re seeing in China today and we’re teeter-tottering with it here in this country.

On this week’s extra segment, we dive into the topic of socialism with two boralogues from years past. First up is an extended boralogue from June 2008 where John outlines the three steps of socialism. That is followed up by a boralogue from September 2009 covering how socialism has affected our education and permeates both sides of the aisle in politics.

Why is the foundation of our country so important and why is it under such brutal attack today? In this week’s boralogue, John reads from the Declaration of Independence, showing how Jefferson wrote about the nation’s founding. John points out the many logical fallacies among those who want to blast away our foundations. We should remember the founding ideals of this country and uphold them against those who want to destroy them.

China is arguably America’s greatest geopolitical foe. Brandon Weichert, Manager of the Weichert Report (www.weichertreport.com), is back with us to discuss China’s hegemonic philosophy, their relationship with Russia, and their strides to become the dominant force in space. The U.S. will need to modernize its existing satellites to stay competitive with China.

John recently attended a Civil War re-enactment and struck up a conversation with a man who studies the Civil War. That man, retired teacher and author Nick Adams (www.civil-war-letters.com), joins us to examine what lessons we can learn from the Civil War and if there can possibly be compromise on any issue in today’s polarized climate.

John’s quote of the week:
There is a political hate-fest going on today where everyone is at each other’s throats. Meanwhile, there are important things happening on the geopolitical front with Russia and China and the Middle East. On the geo-economic side, things are radically changing. And a lot of politicians are voting against good measures just because the wrong party proposes them.

In this week’s Extras segment, we play an interview from July 2016 with Joshua Philipp where he discusses China’s plan for world domination in all areas of society, including economics, territory, business, trade, and more. He also covers briefly the topic of forced organ transplants in China.

China Threat

The fix is in, or so it would seem, after the FBI’s decision to recommend no charges be brought against Hillary Clinton. In this week’s boralogue, John looks at double standards in law enforcement by deconstructing an episode of Law & Order SVU and tying it to current events. In order to uphold laws they deem important, officials are willing to break other laws. A level playing field is needed.

To achieve a strategic geopolitical advantage, China has resorted to cyber espionage, primarily against Western countries and the United States. We welcome back to the program Joshua Philipp (www.theepochtimes.com), Reporter for the Epoch Times, who discusses the China threat, Project 863, and the particularly gruesome practice of forced organ transplants.

Twenty years ago this month, TWA Flight 800 crashed off the coast of Long Island. Independent author and producer Jack Cashill (www.cashill.com) analyzes the evidence involving faulty reports, a rogue missile test, and a massive government cover-up. He also recounts his experience with the intolerance and biases of the left-leaning media.

John’s quote of the week:
“If the law says that a certain crime is wrong, why don’t other laws have to be upheld? The message is that for the sake of the laws we wish to uphold, we can break other laws. The problem is fungible double standards.”

Given all the evidence emerging after the shootings in Orlando, who should be held to blame for the massacre? The media would have you believe the answer is Christians. In this week’s boralogue, John looks at clear bias in media and leftist groups as the massive spin machine holds America in contempt – not ISIS or Islamic terrorism. Christians and conservatives are the guilty parties. For leftist elites, they’re in it to spin it, not to espouse the truth.

There’s a thin line between eliminating hate speech and suppressing free speech. Joshua Philipp (www.theepochtimes.com), Reporter for the Epoch Times, discusses how Facebook and Twitter continue to allow the promotion of terrorism on social media, but those who dare to expose terrorism with the truth have their accounts suspended. Traditional views of morality are changing which allow for policies like these to gain a foothold.

The Obama administration’s negotiation with Iran regarding their nuclear program is now being exposed as a package of secret side deals and lies fed to the American public. Meira Svirsky (www.clarionproject.org), Editor at the Clarion Project, examines the futility of snap back provisions in connection with European business as well as ineffective inspection policies thanks to a back room deal between Iran and the IAEA.

With talk of Islamic terror and the motivations behind the Orlando shooting, we welcome back to the program Daniel Akbari (www.stophonorkilling.com), attorney and expert on Islamic law to have an honest discussion regarding what the Koran and supporting documents actually say concerning sharia law and the difference between Muslims and Islamists.

John’s quote of the week:
“Expressions of support and sympathy from Christians and Christian churches which poured in (after the Orlando shootings) were rejected by the gay media because, of course, the Christians – not radical Islam – were responsible for this mess in the first place. Oh and by the way, if you believe in the Second Amendment, you might be responsible for it too.”
