When you realize that politics is a game, it becomes easier to spot what’s really going on. In this week’s boralogue, John looks at the truth behind tax reform, the Manafort indictment, and the terrorist attack in Lower Manhattan. It’s spin that muddies the waters and makes it difficult to get to and discuss the facts. The most important thing is knowing the truth.

A television network recently aired a documentary on the Vietnam War. Were all the facts portrayed accurately? Francis Sempa (www.wilkes.edu), Federal Prosecutor and Economics Professor at Wilkes University, notes that the evils of Communism were downplayed in the documentary and the attitudes of returning troops were misconstrued. Liberal education is teaching a different history.

Will North Korea (or the sun) fry our electrical grid through electromagnetic pulse? Dr. Peter Vincent Pry (www.emptaskforcenhs.com), Chief of Staff of the Congressional EMP Commission, analyzes the different EMP threats and shows that, while other countries are hardening their infrastructure against an attack, our federal government is dragging its heels.

John’s quote of the week:
There is the ideal, there is the reality, and then there is the spin. The ideal is what should be happening, the reality is what is happening, and then the spin is designed to cover up what is really happening.

In this week’s Section 6, John discusses the new Fed chairman and the basics of currency and monetary policy. Next, we play a clip of Mark Steyn and talk about the politically correct narratives which are always clashing with reality. Lastly, we’ll air John’s recent guest appearance on ‘Attorney Client Privilege‘ with Jenna Ellis – Are we really as divided a country as the media would have us believe? Perhaps not.

The West Versus the Rest

Listening to the talking heads about tax transfer schemes, tax reform, tax evasion, and taxing the wealthy, is enough to cause anyone to worry. In this week’s boralogue, John looks at the truth behind taxes and how they really work. When you tax something, you get less of it. Plus John dissects Al Gore’s comments from a CNN town hall meeting in our clip of the week.

President Trump gave a speech in Poland last month praising the West and all of its accomplishments. There were some, despite enjoying the benefits of Western culture, who disagreed with him. Bruce Thornton (www.fresnostate.edu), Humanities Professor at California State Fresno examines the disdain in academia and among the elites for Western culture, and digs into history to show how society based on freedom is both rare and best.

A bubble is looming in the financial markets. Can we spot the patterns that lead up to it or will it catch us by surprise yet again? George Gilder (www.discovery.org), Senior Fellow with the Discovery Institute, discusses monetary policy, how currency and markets affect everything else in society, and what to watch for in the future.

John’s quote of the week:
“The very same people that are telling you that you’re a very bad society have to doublespeak it because those people who are coming here know it’s much better here. And the people who are telling us how bad it is here, they don’t seem to want to leave either.”

This week on our Section 6 Intelligence Brief: The North Korea threat, RFID microchip identifiers, Santa Muerte in Mexico, threats to religious freedom, and a persecution update.

Dealing with the ‘Comma-Buts’

John’s extended boralogue initiates the program by painting a new concept called the “comma-but,” which progressives seem to utilize subconsciously in order to reconcile the constant problems they confront as their relativist, self-contradicting values keep slamming into each other logically. Of use is a section of the Biden/Ryan debate on the issue of abortion.

Then the spotlight turns to Dr. Thomas Woods, Ph.D., (www.libertyclassroom.com) for an explanation of how monetary policy is actually driving the bus towards an economic cliff, while both candidates for president seem to missing the next-up crisis of the next four years. Of interest is an article written in the Huffington Post attacking those who would dare attack the Fed.

So how does a South African view the global media’s analysis of world events, notably news stories from Africa and the Middle East? Dr. Peter Hammond (www.frontline.org.za) returns to the show for a global perspective of geopolitics outside the US, with a special eye on the Islamic world.
