Racism is back in the spotlight after the events in Charlottesville. Is the fight against it being waged intelligently? In this week’s extended boralogue, John looks at what’s really causing division in our country, the similar roots of fascism and Marxism, and the need to uphold freedom of speech for everyone. Taking down statues isn’t going to solve racism. The freedom for everyone to exchange ideas and discuss the problem may.

Media meltdowns have increased exponentially since last November and it’s tarnishing the reputation of the fourth estate. Pulitzer Prize winner Michael Goodwin (www.nypost.com), Columnist for the New York Post, examines the lowering or at times complete elimination of journalistic standards when it comes to coverage of President Trump. Will the media recover? And should they?

Government control of healthcare can lead to a slide toward totalitarianism. We are joined by constitutional law attorney Jenna Ellis (www.ccu.edu) who reviews the Charlie Gard case in the UK and shows that government is usurping parents’ rights when it comes to their children. She also looks at religious freedom court cases involving cake bakers and gay weddings.

John’s quote of the week:
“When an issue goes stale or becomes dangerous, it is dropped like a hot potato and they move on to the next issue about which they are outraged, forgetting of course the previous outrage which is no longer apparently outrageous. When we have pulled down Confederate statues, they will not be pacified but will move on to the next outrage.”

Coming up in Section 6, John discusses a novel idea; how about free speech for everyone, regardless of their views and beliefs? Plus, what’s the best way to fight hate? It’s simpler than you think. John also covers the tactic of framing the debate and why the Left always seems to get the upper hand. Lastly, the topic of the history of the various reforms and splits in the Christian church. You won’t want to miss this!

Middle East peace talks begin this weekend in Paris while neither Israel nor any Palestinian group has been invited. In this week’s boralogue, John looks at the history of the term Palestinian, who actually occupied the West Bank and Gaza before 1967, and the most likely outcome of the talks: a plan for a two-state solution. How will this affect the area’s future?

A bill was recently signed into law that would establish a government office to disseminate U.S. foreign policy and to combat fake news. In other words, we may soon have an official Ministry of Truth. We welcome back Alex Newman (www.thenewamerican.com), Correspondent for The New American, who points out that certain journalists could be labeled as illegitimate just for disagreeing with the government.

As we air our final show of the Obama administration era, we are taking a look at the president’s legacy. Fox News Strategic Analyst Lt. Col. Ralph Peters (www.foxnews.com) examines the weakened status and poor morale in our military and what Trump can do to improve it. He also analyzes foreign policy issues concerning Russia, China, and Iran.

President Obama has touted his legacy as positive in nearly every respect, however the truth lies far below that. Jeffery Tucker (www.fee.org), Director of Content for the Foundation for Economic Education discusses the president’s poor handling of the economy, including implementing both Obamacare and oppressive business regulations.

Leftists have been operating from the Alinsky playbook for decades, but now President-elect Trump is using those same methods against them. Dr. Tome Borelli (www.conservativereview.com), Contributor at Conservative Review contrasts how Trump is using companies to lobby for tax reform versus how Obama used drug companies to lobby for Obamacare and bigger government.

John’s quote of the week:
“I’m sure people would like to see peace in the Middle East but you have to ask on what terms and at what cost. Given the current biases present in the United Nations against Israel, those are very sobering questions.”

As we near the end of 2016, we ask: what was the most significant event of the year? In this week’s boralogue, John looks at how the free flow of information on social media and the internet has broken the mainstream politically correct narrative. Media outlets that have controlled the information in the past are now being ignored as their bias is laid bare. The fourth turning paradigm shift is upon us.

Darwinism has evolved over the past few decades and has pitted science against religion. Dr. Charles Ware (www.crossroads.edu), President of Crossroads Bible College shows that evolution demeans humans and gives atheists a place to rest their beliefs. The solution and the Truth can be found in the Bible.

After a period of self-reflection following the 2016 presidential campaign, the Left and their media cohorts have returned to pushing the same old tired narrative. Dr. John Zmirak (www.stream.org), Senior Editor at The Stream, rejoins us and explains how every effort is being made to to delegitimize Donald Trump before he takes office. If a violent incident is provoked, they hope the future president will abandon his agenda.

One agenda question for Donald Trump is what to do with Obamacare. Dr. Merrill Matthews (www.ipi.org), Resident Scholar with the Institute for Policy Innovation discusses the possible replacement of the Affordable Care Act, what would take its place, and how a change would affect Americans’ healthcare coverage.

John’s quote of the week:
“The core difference that we have seen this year is that the politically correct narratives of the world’s politicos in the West – as an enforced, mandatory, intellectual adherent environment – are actually cracked.”

My Paradigm’s Broken

Happy soon-to-be Thanksgiving everyone. In this week’s boralogue, John shows that we should be thankful because we are blessed in America compared with many other nations. When elections and issues and fighting erupt, we should step back, respect one another, listen to each other, and if rights collide, find a way to leave each other be. We live in a free society and freedom means you are free to do what your conscience dictates.

Why is there such an outrage following the election of Donald Trump as President of the United States? Dr. Steve Turley (www.turleytalks.com), Fine Arts Professor at Eastern University rejoins us to discuss the Left’s bruised post-election paradigm as well as secularism in the United States, emancipatory politics, and the rise of populism.

Is there such a thing as a free market? Senior Fellow at the Manhattan Institute Nicole Gelinas (www.manhattan-institute.org) looks at healthcare and the housing market and posits that the market becomes far less free when government gets involved.

John’s quote of the week:
“We have been blessed. As Americans fighting over things, we tend to get very selfish at times. Maybe we need to stop forgetting that we have been very blessed and that we should be very thankful to God who established us and has preserved us for as long as He has.”
