Are we seeing a double standard regarding refugee policies in Europe? In this week’s boralogue, John looks at the case of Asia Bibi, who has been denied asylum in the UK due to fears of violent protests. Those who would protest, however, are the very same ones who are protected and against whom no one is allowed to speak. We can learn from Europe’s dysfunction, but only if we are willing.

There is quite a difference in the perception of law enforcement between 2008 and today. Eric Reade (www.ccs.spokane.edu), former Officer in Charge of the Threat Assessment Unit for the Los Angeles Police Department, discusses the rise in violence against police officers in the last 10 years and stresses the importance of looking at facts, not rhetoric, when it comes to Black Lives Matter and the previous administration.

Now that the dust has settled – somewhat – from the midterms, we welcome back author and political forecaster Gerard Lameiro (www.greatnewsforamerica.com) who reviews his midterm predictions and examines the irregularities in Florida’s recount ballot counting.

John and Producer Steve follow up on Mr. Lameiro’s interview looking at the possible strategies behind the Democrat recounts in Florida, which could be related to the Senate’s upcoming slew of conservative judicial appointments.

John’s quote of the week:
“In any situation you have to ask, ‘did this happen,’ ‘were rights violated,’ and ‘how do we deal with that?’ It has to be on a level playing field. Once you distort that going one way or the other, we don’t really have equal rights and we’ll never get there. It isn’t a matter of race; it’s a matter of humanity.”

In this week’s Section 6, John looks at the California wildfires, Brexit mania in Europe, globalism vs sovereignty, and the reason for the visceral reactions to Brexit and President Trump. And it wouldn’t be the episode before Thanksgiving without John giving you his famous cranberry sauce recipe.

Loeffler’s Famous Cranberry Sauce Recipe
Ingredients:
  • 1 lb. fresh cranberries.
  • 2 cups brown sugar.
  • 1 cup apricot brandy.

Add all ingredients to a saucepan on medium to high heat and stir. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer, leave uncovered. Stir occasionally and let simmer until it reaches the desired thickness and the cranberries are fully cooked (about 1 hr. on very low heat). Makes 6 to 10 servings. Serve it hot or chilled.

From our family to yours; we hope you enjoy this special treat this Thanksgiving!

What is the post-truth era? In this week’s boralogue, John looks at the so-called post-truth age and how it’s strange that we could have gone from an era where progressives told us there was no such thing as truth to one where we move past it. They are trying to determine for us who is telling the truth and who is not. It’s a battle for free speech and one that we must win.

Politically correct ideologies are starting to rack up casualties on campuses, including professors. Michael Rectenwald (www.michaelrectenwald.com), Liberal Studies Professor at NYU, recounts his battle against social justice warriors whose tactics, they say, encourage tolerance but are in fact themselves intolerant.

Senator Mark Warner recently wrote a memo indicating that the government should intervene and regulate online press. Elizabeth Nolan Brown (www.reason.com), Associate Editor at Reason Magazine discusses how government control of the internet and regulation of social media giants could play out in the future.

On July 19, President Trump called the fake news media the real enemy of the people. Writer and photographer Henry Scanlon (www.henryscanlon.com) joins us to look at how the press purposefully misleads the public to further their many narratives and how it’s possible to be against the fake news media and still be for a free press.

John’s quote of the week:
This generation never learned how to think. And as a result, the only way that is left to enforce their ideas is brute force. We’re seeing the brute force in physical assaults but what is really troubling is the fact that they will not debate, they will not meet, and if any of their people cross the line to try to establish a bridge, they too will be attacked.

In this week’s Section 6, John and Producer Steve discuss several examples of media double standards involving stories on Islamic topics such as terror attacks and court proceedings.

How does one discern truth in the age of fake news? Departing from the norm, Producer Steve takes over the mike for this week’s snoozalogue (don’t worry John will be back for the rest of the show), looking at ways to recognize truth whenever mainstream news pundits give you a fake story. All it takes is hard work and determination. And maybe a little prayer.

Back at the helm, John welcomes Linda Harvey (www.missionamerica.com), Founder of Mission America, who continues our discussion on education unions after the Janus decision and how the NEA looks out for itself and for teachers, but not for children.

Why is it so difficult for Islam to assimilate with Western culture? Robert Spencer (www.jihadwatch.org), Director of Jihad Watch, contrasts gender equality and free speech, bastions of the West, with traditional Islamic ideals and discusses the history of jihad.

The uproar continues over Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court. David Harsanyi (www.thefederalist.com), Senior Editor at The Federalist, examines why leftists who oppose Judge Kavanaugh are more afraid of the Constitution than the man tasked with upholding it.

Understanding the past helps predict and possibly prevent calamity in the future. Stephen Halbrook (www.independent.org), Senior Fellow at the Independent Institute, analyzes gun registration and confiscation in France just prior to Hitler’s takeover and asks the question: what would gun confiscation look like if it were implemented in today’s America?

Finally, longtime guest and friend of the program Avi Lipkin (www.vicmord.com) joins us to reveal Israel’s new Bible Bloc Party, a political group he founded to give Christians, a growing population in Israel, representation in the Knesset.

John’s quote of the week:
Gun registration almost always precedes gun confiscation. The real question is what happens after that? The people today who are screaming for more gun regulations are the very same voices that tell us our rights to free speech and other rights don’t count.

Section 6 In this week’s Section 6, we play an interview John gave on Stand Up For The Truth on Q90FM in Wisconsin recently. John discusses the frenetic downfall of the leftist ideology as well as President Trump’s complicated and intertwined global negotiations. He goes on to look at truth and relativism in today’s world and building your worldview on rock, not sand.

President Trump has brought about the end of the world following his summit meeting with Vladimir Putin, so says the media. Is it true? In this week’s boralogue, John compares President Obama’s Russian strategy with that of President Trump’s and the latter is winning. But outrage and hyperbole are spewed forth to mask that fact. The question the media is not asking is: do you want someone who does something for show or someone who is effective?

How we view Judaism and Christianity depends on how much we study them. Berlin-based political analyst and columnist Raphael Castro (www.besacenter.org) shows us how a decline in the study of Scriptures has led to a loss of identity in Western culture. Europe has led the way in this and America seems eager to follow.

John and Producer Steve take a moment to discuss the summit between Presidents Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, looking at the bigger picture rather than the often repeated hysterical hyperbole (or hysterbole as we’re calling it) you are seeing on mainstream media channels.

Does the Bible contradict or promote socialism? Dr. Jay Richards (www.catholic.edu), Professor at the Catholic School of America, discusses the difference between government and personal involvement when it comes to helping the poor and what the Bible tells us about economics.

Is the resistance movement accomplishing anything or is it just causing more division? Author and historian Daniel Mallock (www.danielmallock.com) is back with us to explain how some groups of people have drifted away from honoring the Constitution as well as the philosophy behind the leftist hatred in this country.

John’s quote of the week:
We started out in this country by saying rights were given by God. Therefore, they are anchored in rock and they can’t be changed. The innate value of mankind – of humans – cannot be changed. Because that was given by God. No law can strike that away.

In this week’s Section 6, John looks at the origins of the French Revolution from an economic and religious perspective and compares many of the events then with events happening now.
