Marxism vs. Freedom

Happy Memorial Day, everyone. Who or what are we memorializing this holiday weekend? In this week’s abbreviated boralogue, John looks at upholding the Constitution and the morals and values that helped establish this country. If we don’t, our country may just disappear.

One of the ideologies looking to supplant freedom and capitalism in America is that of Marxism. Paul Kengor (www.visionandvalues.org), Executive Director of the Center of Vision and Values at Grove City College, joins us to refute defenders of Marxism who say that it just hasn’t ever been successfully implemented, and shows how progressives have adopted Marxist thought in their attempt to gain power.

Facebook has embarked on a campaign to silence conservatives online. Jim Hoft (www.thegatewaypundit.com), author and founder of The Gateway Pundit, describes how his website has been affected and asserts that since conservatives helped elect Donald Trump, social media sites are muzzling them so that it doesn’t happen again.

John and Producer Steve give a brief update in the Russiagate saga, focusing on the impending release of a report from the Office of the Inspector General. Then John and Tom Read, (www.acn.cc), head of American Christian Network and owner of several radio stations in the Pacific Northwest wax nostalgic about days of broadcast past, discussing the history of radio news and how the Internet is affecting it today.

John’s quote of the week:
If we keep battering on our foundational documents, which will tear them apart, we may discover we’ll get everything we want, except that the whole thing will have fallen apart. We can’t allow that. Otherwise, all of those people we remember this weekend, they truly will have died in vain.

Section 6 is on a Memorial Day weekend break but will return next week with more geopolitical stories from around the world.

Dealing with the ‘Comma-Buts’

John’s extended boralogue initiates the program by painting a new concept called the “comma-but,” which progressives seem to utilize subconsciously in order to reconcile the constant problems they confront as their relativist, self-contradicting values keep slamming into each other logically. Of use is a section of the Biden/Ryan debate on the issue of abortion.

Then the spotlight turns to Dr. Thomas Woods, Ph.D., (www.libertyclassroom.com) for an explanation of how monetary policy is actually driving the bus towards an economic cliff, while both candidates for president seem to missing the next-up crisis of the next four years. Of interest is an article written in the Huffington Post attacking those who would dare attack the Fed.

So how does a South African view the global media’s analysis of world events, notably news stories from Africa and the Middle East? Dr. Peter Hammond (www.frontline.org.za) returns to the show for a global perspective of geopolitics outside the US, with a special eye on the Islamic world.

Vulnerable to Iranian EMP Attack

With tensions over possible attacks on Iran mounting, one way Iran could actually retaliate is by discharging an electro-magnetic pulse (EMP) over the United States, which would shut down the national power grid. How realistic is this threat? Steve Elwart is a consultant on electronic security issues.

When did liberalism adopt socialism as its model? In the early part of the 20th Century progressives were falling all over themselves to endorse communist experiments in the early Soviet Union until things started to fall apart. Then they wrapped themselves in the American flag and began talking about social justice, etc. William Lord is author of “The Battle for America: Socialism and Christianity.”

As the United States backs itself into an energy corner with rising international tensions, the oil in the Green River Formation goes unused. Former Colorado Congressman Bob Beauprez ranches in that area of the country and he joins us for a quick look at what it would take to extract the oil.

John’s boralogue is non-existent today because we jump right into the interviews.
