Fidel Castro’s death has brought about many opinions on his leadership in Cuba. In this week’s boralogue, John dissects the reaction by progressive elites like Canada’s Justin Trudeau who praise Castro’s governance and shows the truth behind socialism by looking at what actually happened in Cuba under El Comandante.

Socialism is dangerous and has never succeeded in history, but it has somehow grown in popularity recently. Mike Shotwell (www.mikeshotwell.com), author of the new book Immersed in Red, gives us an insider’s perspective from his time growing up in a Marxist household. He discusses the realities of socialism and how it has influenced the Obama administration.

ISIS has been successful in recruiting young people to their cause but one country is fighting back. Josh Siegel (www.dailysignal.com), News Editor for the Daily Signal explains how a group in the United Kingdom is helping to stop ISIS recruitment and the controversies surrounding it.

Federal agencies are interfering with property rights and owners are beginning stand up to them. Ron Ewart (www.narlo.org), President of the National Association of Rural Landowners describes how government bureaucrats have waged war on cattle ranchers in the west and how reform is needed in agencies that are rife with radical environmentalism.

John’s quote of the week:
“The reactions to the death of Fidel Castro among the progressive elites are extremely telling of why the world is where it is today. Why are they reacting badly to populist uprisings in the West? It’s because those uprisings are threatening the 50-year long march through Western culture to “transform” it from a free market system to a government-controlled socialist utopia.”

Is America transforming its foundation from rock to sand? In this week’s extended boralogue, John shows that secularism is on the rise, slowly replacing Christianity as the moral governor of the land. But there can be no basis for a moral foundation without having a higher power. The controversy between All Lives Matter and Black Lives Matter is used as an example to show that if you take away the higher power and allow the state to be moral arbiter, the only lives that count are the ones sanctioned by the state. When the rains descend, the floods come, and the winds blow, will our house still be standing?

This weekend the United Nations is hosting the Sustainable Development Summit 2015, with representatives from around the world in attendance, including Pope Francis. Is sustainable development nothing more than an attempt to establish a one-world government? What will societal change and social justice look like? Will our foundation begin to shake?

Joining us for a round table discussion this week are Karen Schoen (www.karenschoen.com), Found of AgEnders and Host of American Freedom Watch Radio, and Tom DeWeese (www.americanpolicy.org), President of the American Policy Center and author of the DeWeese Report. They reveal the truth behind sustainable development and the 2030 Agenda, and discuss wealth redistribution, climate change, abolishment of property rights, and who has ultimate control over water resources, education, and the economy. Beware the fundamental transformation of society!

Finally, we welcome WorldNet Daily writer Doug Ernst (www.wnd.com), who reveals a directive from President Obama ordering psychologists to search for ways to manipulate the American people into believing that the government is doing what’s best for them. Apparently, the ends we are told we want justify the means we didn’t know existed.

What is truth? In this week’s boralogue, Johns examines church members who are claiming to be Christians but don’t believe in Christ and atheist ministers who still want to lead their church congregations. Why be part of a belief system you don’t believe in? There is such a thing as absolute truth, even for those who claim there isn’t. If you believe in truth, it makes a demand upon you that you live according to that truth. But politicians and many in the church today adhere to a politically correct version of reality that stands in opposition to actual truth. One day they will come to realize — as all of us will — that truth is reality and it always wins out.

We continue our thread this week highlighting Christian persecution and welcome to the program Nasir Bhatti (www.pakistanchristiancongress.org), President of the Pakistan Christian Congress. He examines the delays that Christians encounter in receiving refugee status from the United Nations and touches on the immigration problems facing Europe.

“The nine most terrifying words in the English language,” former President Ronald Reagan once said, “are, ‘I’m from the government and I’m here to help.’ “One might urge the government to look up the word ‘help’ in the dictionary. The EPA, an element of said government, has launched a campaign to control every drop of water in the United States, even at the expense of property rights and it’s causing a retain in many states.

Seton Motley (www.lessgovernment.org), President of Less Government and hydrologist Dr. Jay Lehr (www.heartland.org), Science Director at the Heartland Institute, discuss the agency’s overreach and regulations and propose a plan to phase out federal control in favor of state responsibility. Can it be implemented or will it slowly drown in a sea of bureaucracy?

John finishes up with a behind the scenes look at Roman Catholicism, papal infallibility, and the weight of authority behind papal teaching and how that is affecting geopolitics.

We are taking the weekend off to recover from turkey overdose. Hope you had a good Thanksgiving.

Religious and philosophical worldviews have real impacts on the daily lives of people within a society who hold them, for good or evil. So what did C.S. Lewis think about the related subjects of science and religion? Dr. Jay Richards, Ph.D., (www.cslewisweb.com) is author of “The Magician’s Twin: C.S. Lewis on Science, Scientism, and Society.”

National heritage areas are diminishing the property rights of Americans within these zones even though the property owners don’t understand what’s happening. Tom DeWeese from the American Policy Center (www.americanpolicy.org) joins the show for an explanation.

John’s boralogue examines the history of branding using the “extreme” epithet to shut down debate, because some of our most important advances were made by people thought to be extreme in their time. John gives three rules for dealing with “herdology.”
