Unsavory Unions

There’s an epic battle underway for our freedom. What exactly is happening and do we have a chance of winning? In this week’s boralogue, John pushes aside all of the ‘squabblage’ from the media over tweets and accusations and looks at the bigger picture. Global pantheistic socialism is on the rise and threatens our freedoms. Will truth survive? It will if we embrace the Truth and push back against the horde.

Education in this country is dysfunctional at best and who better to analyze that than a former teacher? Rebecca Friedrichs (www.forkidsandcountry.org), Founder of For Kids and Country, examines how teachers’ unions control over every aspect of education, including activism in the classroom as well as a disturbing and graphic sex ed curriculum used in California.

Hate speech in Germany is being arbitrarily determined. Journalist and Senior Fellow at the Gatestone Institute, Judith Bergman (www.gatestoneinstitute.org), is back with us to discuss how German authorities engage in politically correct censorship against people and groups whose speech goes against the orthodoxy. To justify this, they label it ‘hate speech.’

Administrators on college campuses are drawing inspiration from an unlikely source: East Germany. Nicole Neilly (www.speechfirst.org), President and Founder of Speech First, describes how some colleges are setting up bias response teams, eerily similar to the East German Stasi constantly monitoring citizens and informing on neighbors.

John’s quote of the week:
When you take the time to read the UN Declaration of Human Rights, there are weasel words in there, which allow states – notably the UN itself – to end-run those rights. It says you can have freedom of speech, freedom of this, etc., but you can’t exercise it contrary to any policy of the United Nations. Well, the rights then just died.

In this week’s Extras segment, we play an interview with Anita Hoge (abcsofdumbdown.blogspot.com) from February 2015 where she covers unknown aspects of Common Core, including monitoring of child behavior, tracking children via a scoring system, and potentially interfering with our Republic as a whole.

When a worldview begins to die, its adherents become more shrill. When they keep losing the argument in the marketplace of ideas, the only option left for them is to shut you up. In this week’s boralogue, John looks at certain worldviews – like those that led to the rioting in France – that fail when held up to reality and how the true believers devolve into severe disillusionment.

Economic engines, in part, make the world go ’round. Investigative journalist and author Daniel Estulin (www.english.danielestulin.com), describes how the elites behind economic models have pulled the strings for centuries, linking finances and geopolitics. He also examines President Trump’s place in this economic history as well as those who back him.

Free speech is violated on college campuses all the time, even when students choose not to speak. Nicki Neilly (www.speechfirst.org), President of Speech First, joins us to discuss the many cases of self-censoring that students are choosing just to avoid a bad grade or even expulsion. What is the best way to fight back and regain your voice?

Since the education system has become so toxic, why has there been no push-back against the progressive agenda? Duke Pesta (www.fpeusa.org), Director of FreedomProject Academy, explains that the people who broke the system are the ones currently running it with an iron fist. Reforming education should be a top priority in this country but no one in government seems to rank it there.

John’s quote of the week:
The thought police win when we self-censor. Bad ideas can be challenged by good ideas – and people will ultimately accept the good ideas – but they can’t do that when the good ideas never get spoken. That’s why it’s such a disaster for free speech.

In this week’s Section 6, John looks at prosecutorial tactics with government lawyers along with some legal cases involving free speech. He also examines the future of Mexico, atheists vs Christians in court, more socialism on campuses, and the problem with study wars.

Salvaging Existing Freedoms

The truth is the truth, but if you have your truth and I have mine, what happens when those truths collide? In this week’s boralogue, John looks at the need in our society for an absolute truth anchor point upon which you can base your ideals and worldviews. Those that believe in relative truth will also believe absolutely that someone else’s truth is false when confronted with it. This explains why society is so divided today – there is no anchor.

Europe’s traditional culture is slowly eroding away and those in power are doing nothing to stop it. UK media personality and columnist Katie Hopkins (www.hopkinsworld.com) examines the influx of migrants who are refusing to assimilate to their new country’s values and customs and how some are now pushing back, fighting to salvage their disappearing freedoms.

John plays a clip from David McAlvany on the upcoming trouble in the financial markets. Then John and Producer Steve play a rousing clip on political civility from Virginia congressman Nick Freitas and look at the illogical responses to it.

Freedom of speech is one that the Constitution guarantees, but some college students aren’t experiencing that. Nicole Neily (www.speechfirst.org), President of Speech First, describes how her new organization is advocating for students whose rights are being violated and warns those in power that students are waking up and are no longer willing to take it.

John’s quote of the week:
What guarantees freedom in keeping government under control? The first one is the First Amendment. That’s where we’re guaranteed the freedom of speech and of religion and of the press. Vibrant attestations to what is going on and truth are essential to keeping scoundrels from getting away with your government. The Founding Fathers understood that – you had to be able to speak.

In this week’s Section 6, John and Producer Steve continue their discussion of Nicholas Freitas’s speech and the reaction to it. John then goes on to cover the impending Trump-Kim meeting, the collision of worldviews and religions in Europe, and the stubborn doubling down on failing ideas by progressives. He finishes up with the consolidation of power in China and the free flow of global information in the future.
