Culture Cancellation

When you go against the norms of the far left, there is a chance that you will fall victim to cancel culture. First up this week is Dr. Jeff Myers (www.summit.org), President of Summit Ministries, who reveals his organization’s methods to counteract Marxist thought in the classroom. If they’re willing to talk, it’s possible to find a solution. But in other instances when your grade or your job is on the line, a different strategy may be needed, such as taking an accuser to court. Sometimes though, people get to the point that no matter the circumstance, they just have to say, “I will not sit down. I will not shut up.”

Certainly not one to shut up, John looks at the history of revolutions, the events that led up to them and the reason why they succeed or fail. Logic and reason play a big part. If logic and reason move forward decoupled from God, revolutions always fail. America’s revolution coupled logic and reason with morality and we are still here. Basing a government on morals allows more controls on government and more freedoms to the people. That’s why cancel culture will ultimately never work.

The terms ‘racist’ and ‘white supremacist’ are thrown around constantly in today’s public discourse, but does anyone know the true meaning of the words? Rounding out the program this week is Jeff Schoep (www.beyondbarriersusa.org), Founder of Beyond Barriers, who describes his journey from leader of the country’s largest neo-Nazi organization for 25 years to an outspoken opponent of hate and shepherd to those wishing to leave extremist groups.

When you go against the norms of the far left, there is a chance that you can discuss the differences with them, but most likely you will fall victim to cancel culture.  Dr. Jeff Myers (www.summit.org), President of Summit Ministries is with us today to discuss his organization’s methods to counteract Marxist thought in the classroom.  Apologizing in the hopes that they will forgive you will still get you canceled.

Dr. Myers asserts that it’s best when responding to cancelers not to name call and try to destroy like they do.

Everybody’s Gotta Have a Worldview

John’s extended boralogue kicks off with a comparison between the mantras of political correctness and what actually seems to be true, with a detailing how to detect gaps between the two. He grounds this with a commentary on media reactions to ads against Jihad placed in the New York subway system.

No society can exist without a worldview. It forms the foundation for the society, its values and legal systems. So when someone says, “You shouldn’t push your values on others,” they’re describing a world that can never be. The making of laws is the very process of pushing values on everyone and in free societies people elect representatives who will push their values into law.

Dr. Jeff Myers, Ph.D., from Summit Ministries (www.summit.org) is our first guest with a premise that it is critical for Christians to understand connections between religious values and legal systems. If the Church doesn’t provide the values basis for society, then government will create its own and force it upon the churches.

Every time there is a crisis where an item published in the West causes a reaction in the Islamic world, pressure is put upon the media to censor itself. How close are we to losing free speech in western society? Daniel Greenfield from Frontpage Magazine (www.frontpagemag.com) joins us.
