Planning to Fail

Sometimes little things give you a clearer picture of the culture than do the bigger things. In this week’s boralogue, John recalls several conversations he has had with everyday people, including the need for better education, a stronger worldview, and consistency in media. We are about freedom in this country, not right trumping or socialism. Plus, John and Carol celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary this weekend!

Will there ever be reform in Islam and, if so, what would that look like? We welcome back Salim Mansur (www.politicalscience.uwo.ca), Professor of Political Science at the University of Western Ontario, who discusses the relationship between Islam and other religions and if reform were to happen, those within Islam may need to understand the past if they are to shape the future.

Why is it that socialism starts out so appealing but then always ends in disaster? Kevin Williamson (www.nationalreview.com), Roving Correspondent for National Review, joins us to examine the reasons why socialism fails on both a cultural and an economic level. The proponents fail in their planning and always choose the narrative over reality. When that happens, the people suffer.

John finishes up this week reviewing the State of the Union, including the reactions from different members and groups in Congress as well as some of the more interesting reactions from the always fair and honest media. He also analyzes the weaponization of language.

John’s quote of the week:
“We are about freedom in this country. We have lost track of that as everyone claws and scraps for an ever-increasing pile of what they call rights. They are shredding the foundations and if the foundations be destroyed, it will all be undone.”

In this week’s Extras segment, in honor of President Trump’s assertion that the U.S. will never become a socialist nation, we hit the way back machine and play an interview from 2009 with Dr. Dave Noebel, who explains the Marxist origins of socialism.

Merry Christmas everyone! We will skip the boralogue this holiday weekend and jump right in with Salim Mansur (www.politicalscience.uwo.ca), Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Western Ontario, who examines the downward trend in mainstream media popularity, the similarities between the leaders of France and Canada, and the UN’s attempt to overshadow national sovereignty.

Is there really a secret cabal of puppeteers pulling the global levers of power? We welcome back to the program investigative journalist and political analyst Daniel Estulin (www.english.danielestulin.com) to review geopolitics from the global banking financiers whose hands are in everything to the conceptual plans different countries have for the future.

John’s quote of the week:
As we go into Christmas, remember to keep Christ in Christmas. This is what it’s all about. You can’t believe if you have nothing to believe in and Santa won’t fill the bill. You can’t have Christmas without the Christ and you can’t have salvation without a savior.

In this week’s special holiday Section 6, we play an interview John gave with KYMS, a local radio station, where he and the host discuss the decline in church attendance, anti-Christian agendas in public schools, cultural Marxism, and an update on the martyred church.
